How does this scam website get these backlinks?

Hey all,

I found a competitor e-commerce site that is a complete scam. As in they take crypto payments and stop responding to all customers

but they have all these backlinks and rank above legit sites for many keywords.

Wondering how they did this?

Is it just Press Release?

They must be using an expired domain. Previously, it was a legit business may be . That is why they were able to get these backlinks.

This is my first thought too, but archive.org shows this was the only build on the domain, started in 2021
Links aren't redirects either

There's only two dofollows over DR80. I don't think you need anything special to get these links.
