You will be able to still use them as they are open source but the browser need to keep in development mode and manually import the extension

Which is definitely a hard process than direct installation from chrome store

You use people's platform, consume what they offer you but you block the only way they are able to take care of those platforms and make a living....

I feel it's unfair using adblockers.... There are annoying ads no doubt and you can make an argument for blocking these ads but generally these guys (we) earn from those ads they (we) display.

No, my reply was serious. Just search about the outcry on twitter how many popular channels they demonetized without any reason, even majority of them were producing genuine and informational content, one of the channel's short clip was even mentioned by the pewdiepie in one of his videos. The guy used this as a proof and tagged youtube on twitter. Anyway, short story, he got his channel's monetization back. But many of the other content creators were not that lucky.

You know why Google did this? Because of the pressure from their advertiser's base. Companies marketing budgets were draining on advertising with a jet speed, but the outcome wasn't great and profitable. So, Big G had to make these changes to downsize the publishers.

Now this time they are doing the same with ad block extension coders, because they are getting pain in the a$$ of adsense. lol

outcry is very much temporal, Twitter gets a new crusade every week. google chokehold on the market has been ridiculously tight for a few years already. if anything, I read this as "our position is so solid that we can afford to take an unpopular measure like this". that said, if they really take my adblock from me, i am moving to firefox, fuck them.
