What's on ya homepage?

I'm in the process of setting up a third site because I have awful shiny object syndrome. It made me realise that I've not seen too much discussion on homepages for niche sites. It made me curious what people are putting on there. On my main site, it's mostly what the website is, where to get started, some about me and a bunch of links. I'd love to know if there is other stuff I should include.

banner images, little preview text, and a few other bells and whistles, if it's an elementor homepage, then already preset templates for some others, and then for the rest, just the last blog first long page format layout.

Good that your on your third site, just keep going and scaling up the progress of all of them together as much as possible, and whatever ones rise to the top in terms of revenue, begin to turn more time attention to those.

Homepage?

Well...

- A logo and Menu in the header
- A Banner (if possible, a sliding one)
- Recent posts (thumbnails and excerpts)
- Right column may show about you info.
- Footer menu links and Social links if you have any.

That's a pretty simple regular stuff, isn't it?

As said above - additionally, explain what you do and why your site visitors should use you.

Boxed styling to preview articles (excerpt), having medium-sized thumbnails. No side-bar while on homepage
Right sidebar (while on post pages): search box, square ad banner, categories, custom text
Footer menu with pages (about, terms, contact, etc)

As for the home page, it is essential to start with competitors' analysis to understand what they use and how they look. Because I'm pretty sure they already test many things that work well. Don't reinvent the wheel every time. You need to take the leading part from them according to the structure and rest things and some critical points that they don't have add by themselves to add value and make you unique among them. So you need to take the best and improve.

Thank you for the responses, everyone. Seems like I was vaguely on the right track, but it's good to have it confirmed and to see how you all approach it slightly differently.

My main homepage is not a list of the latest posts or navigation to all categories but a proper content format that distinguishes it from other sites.

It is actually related to my main keyword of the site which is also the domain name.

It's currently more than 6000 words of super high-quality content that is hard to find and will expand to 8000 words.
