How long it took you to see results from when you started?

Ranking on YouTube is not much in your control. You can optimize the videos buy ranking is still not guaranteed.

Youtube is fast. I see my new videos showing on google serps in about 30 minutes. But I am choosing low comp keywords similar to other ones I have seen rank first page.

Those keywords need to have video intent right? Also how much search volume according to vidiq?

You can see faster results on youtube when you pick low-competition keywords.

Comparing to website, Youtube show high ranking with low competition keyword. Website also ranks well but takes time and need to update regularly.

Ranking on YouTube is easier & if your content is engaging it's fruitful too.
Reason: YT is the evergreen parasite that never dies.
When you create quality content on YT you have the authority of platform already available.
So, you can rank in serps as well as on yt search results.

@Rollfic Yes those terms need to have a video showing on Google before posting the video. All I am trying to do is take their spot with a more optimized SEO content. Also Youtube tests new videos for a while giving them better rankings to see watch and CTR. I don't have VIdiq and use SEMRush or Ubersuggest search numbers as I am trying to place in Google mostly.

Ranking website requires more work and expense. YouTube is still new concept and the competition is less than blogging.

I guess you need to do both, but anyway in, YouTube should be as an addition to the site. You lose time if you start working on YouTube without working under the website. SEO needs more time. YouTube is faster, but website ranking has its benefits, and in a long-term perspective, I guess much better.
