You will finish immediately account farmers with "discount pls" and "sample pls" spam
+ stop post inflation

I'll run this by the rest of the team on Monday.

For the team: @Lukmat wants the post count to be disabled in the marketplace to stop users from pretending to be interested in sales threads for the sake of inflating their post count.
+ stop post inflation
This wouldn't entirely stop post count inflation. When it was disabled in the introductions section years ago, the spammers just went to every other section. At least when the bulk of it is in the introductions section, it's easier to take care of when user's report the issue.

Sadly this won't stop them, however, checking their history is a good way to see if this is the sort of person you want to work/engage with. IE if they are just looking for discounts all the time would you want to JV with them? Probably not. If you want to offer people discounts then maybe!

You can check on postings or the latest activity to see what type of engagement there is from an account under a users profile for example https://www.blackhatworld.com/members/lukmat.6100/#recent-content

Marketplace 2.0 builds on this functionally by allowing merchants to define what type of user they will offer discounts to and immediately delivering them, thus removing the discount please short posts.

It's not the end solution to the problem of short posts and thread bumping but we expect it to improve the quality of the respondent to discounted offers.
