Hello everyone, I have recently joined this forum because I find it very interesting, I do not know the level of the people who are doing dropshipping in this forum. Last year I have invoiced +7 figures with DS in Europe and Latin America.
My biggest problem are the payment gateways, after "X" orders always accumulate disputes and chargebacks, if you exceed 1% you enter the crosshairs of any payment gateway. Let's take the example that you have 10,000 orders in 1 month, 1% is 100 disputes... Anyone who does dropshipping knows that it is very easy to have that amount of disputes or chargebacks.
I'm going to tell you my experience with payment gateways since I started DS.
I started with SHOPIFY PAYMENTS and everything was fine, with my US company and selling in the US everything seemed to be fine, they did a 15% hold on my income, after 90 days they unblocked it and I didn't sell again with my US company. At the same time that I was selling with Shopify Payments I was also selling with PAYPAL integrated in Shopify, the problems took much less time to appear than with Shopify, soon they retained all my money for 180 days, due to a high percentage of disputes, I had not reached 1%, customers began to open disputes and PayPal accepted them automatically, the retained money began to fall, PayPal came to charge me more than 30€ for each dispute created per customer of commission... I told them to go fuck themselves, I don't want to know anything about that MAFIA.
I created my first business in the USA and the problems started: shopify does not support foreigners with USA businesses, soon after they closed my Shopify Payments account and they withheld all my money for 120 days. I tried to put my EU details and a WISE account in Belgium, the Shopify Payments account lasted a bit longer, they still closed it without explanation, my ID was already blacklisted.
After my experience with Shopify Payments I have turned to STRIPE, I had no problems to create my first account, after selling all summer the disputes have arrived, with 1,1% of disputes Stripe started to retain 10%, right now my account has 1,2% and they retain 25%, impossible to continue selling with this account. I have formed more companies in the USA to get STRIPE with them, it seems that my ID is under the spotlight, I as a natural person am a threat to STRIPE (according to them) and within minutes of creating my second STRIPE account with another company they have decided to withhold 10% of all my payments.
Right now I am looking for more payment platforms and trying to get accepted on one of them. I am using KLARNA, SOFORT... but I think they will hold and close my account soon, it is a Shopify account I bought, it doesn't look good....
I hope you can tell your experience and share the payment gateways that work for you and in which countries, as soon as I have more information I will update the post,
Best regards
