How do websites like this get away without KYC?

Websites like sdc.com or fabswingers.com (UK) do not have any kind of age verification mechanisms except from the popup when entering the site (some don't even have that too).
How is this legal and compliant?

I am just wondering because EU and US are pushing more and more strict rules for age verification, recently Instagram started doing video age verification for its users, but these adult websites do not?
Seems a bit odd.

You know I wonder that too, adult sites should start asking for ID from their visitors otherwise small kids just can click yes I am over 18 all the time now.

I doubt there are that many teens looking for swingers forums.
Besides this, those laws apply more for big name organisations.

I don't have that GDPR crap installed in any of my EU blogs, and it's required by law.
Yet Adsense doesn't care, and I never got any complaint.

Talking about age verification and porn, have you been on phub or xhamster/xvideos lately?

Well im not talking about adsense. Im talking about membership subscriptions and running it through a proper registered company etc.

Im pretty sure there must be some basic checks.

Also teens not looking for x or y type of site doesn't matter. Compliance is compliance. Not being enforced for ads i can understand but when you are making 6-7 digits yearly I'm sure there must be some checks. Question is, is there a legal window that allows then to not put up such checks?

Usually, they get away with having it written somewhere at the bottom of some TOS page.

I know how serious it is.
A company I work for recently got finned $7,500 for not making their website friendly for people with seeing disabilities. I know how weird that sounds.

But these are flukes, happen once every 1,000,000 websites.

Nobody is going to go full karen on some website forum for swingers.

Because country laws are very different and there are 255+ countries. If my website is hosted in China, I have to obey China's rules, not US/UK/EU.

The same when you visit someone's house. One will ask you to take your shoes off, another one won't. Maybe you don't understand the analogy here.

As i said in opening post at least one of the websites is UK hosted and registered. Where the laws do apply.

KYC doesn't mean you need to have a selfie/copy of an ID. Is enough the name and the age.

Also, as long as the content is behind a login page, is enough. There's no open porn to say.

Myself I'm against any KYC and captchas.

KYC is bad, why they should ask for KYC? I don't care about kids visiting that websites.
The responsability is from the parents, not from the owners of website.

Imagine if Kids use a VPN or fake details? What you will do? Block also VPNs? No sense.

KYC is bad for privacy, no matter what. I'm against it and I think everyone should be.
Unless you want to give a passport ID, if KYC be approved, then is easy to scammers and skids gets passports ID from people by doing fake websites.

That is not the way, first parents should install a control parental in computer then move on.
KYC will destroy business and companies. I never will give KYC to assist tv shows or anything like that.

KYC = bullshit.

Like the stupid fucking cookie popups that seem to be everywhere these days.

From this day forward I PERMANENTLY BAN from the internet every website that forces me or even suggests to me to accept cookies.

KYC, mobile OTP verification, cookie consent, probably the three online activities I despise most. IMO ever since people decided to get the government get paternalistically involved in internet regulation, it was pretty inevitable things would go downhill.
