How do people get all the computer parts (CPUs, MBs, RAM, HDD, GPUs, Cases, etc) to be able to sell them for profit
or build a PC and then sell it for profit?

Obviously they are getting it somewhere for a discounted price to be able to sell and make a profit. Is there some kind of
discount computer warehouse only sellers can buy from and not the general public?

I want to sell computers and parts :)

I would advise you to get a job at a local pc store, understand how they work in terms of suppliers, warrant etc and then thinking about starting your own thing.

Answering your question, normally when you have a registered company, you buy direct from suppliers (wholesell) and get those good price for parts, software etc

They make profit by both of them, selling these parts and also assembling them, these pc's are called custom pc.
usually they have distribution directly from company agents. also they get more discount on bulk orders from company.

I would say they get it a supply from china like almost everything in this world. Check Alibaba maybe you find something there.

It depends where you live I guess, but generally you need to have a registered business/company and buy in bulk from suppliers/wholesalers. You might need to buy a minimum of 10 or 20 units of something, for example.

In your country you'll have some well known wholesalers, the ideal thing is to find a wholesaler who gives you the reseller prices and a catalogue off all his products with their prices.

In the majority of cases you'll need to create a company and sign a contract (It's the easiest part)

If you want to sell online, build your store and do your marketing. It can be local SEO, paid ads, social media, influencers...Whatever you're good at it.

Good luck,

I always thought it would be fun to get into computer niche

I would do really cool custom builds at all price points. then do writeups with performance benchmarks and component lists, and maybe make a youtube video for each build. And sell them through a shopify store.

you want to open a store or sell online?

Actually first I just want to sell privately. I do a lot of selling in my local area private sales and it's nice! If I could get my hands on some good PC parts like drives and memory sticks, cpus for discounted prices I could just sell them locally in private sales for decent profit.

So basically then I need 2 major things:
1) be a registered business
2) buy bulk

I've done a lot of retail arbitrage with other niche products but I've always wanted to sell pc parts. It's a lot of time consumption to search for major sales online to order something I think I can resell in person for a profit. I'd have to keep searching every merchant website for the latest sales like 30% off would be worth it. Sales of 10-20% off is hard to make profit.

Thanks. Is there a way I can just start selling privately? I do a lot of private sales with my local classifieds / apps and sell to people direct in person either used goods or brand news goods. I thought it would be great if I can sell PC stuff since it's always in hot demand but hard to make profit if I'm not getting it at a really good discounted price. I do check for sales that go on time to time and see if it's worth buy some of it on sale and then reselling it for a profit.

Assemble gaming PCs and sell.
But I have to buy all the parts at retail cost or shop around for sales and try to buy them as cheaply as possible then assemble the PC and mark it up for sale for profit?

Don’t buy parts at retail cost, buy in bulk and directly from suppliers.

I always thought so too. PC/computer parts are always in hot demand. Everyone needs them and constantly upgrading or changing. Same with phones. I've sold other things but never computer/pc/phones cuz basically I don't know how you get the products for a cheap enough price so that you can actually sell it for a profit.

I could always over price things and hope that some rich noob just buys it from me but honestly, I want to also give a good deal to people because I like seeing them happy and satisfied. I just don't know how you'd get your hands on parts at such a cheap cost.

But would these suppliers sell to someone like me who is not a business/retailer but just a private seller selling in used/local ads/apps in my town?

You call buy and sell in FB marketplace, Ebay.

It depends on where you leave, I'm sure there are some well known local marketplace websites in your country.

What’s wrong with registering a business? You are doing legit work, keep all the paperwork ready and register your business first, then approach the suppliers.

you can buy each part from wholesale market , get them assembled and sell it.
