There is not any residual income so your work is one time, I have flipped 2 sites so far. One for $75 and another for $156... The amount of time that it takes to build them to flip seems a bit long to me....

Its not something I do now but I fliped a few sites a year or so ago and did ok from it, if you want residual income try hosting the sites you sell get a reseller acount with hostgator, each site you sell could bring you a monthly income if you aim at newbies I still get about $75 a month from sites I sold wel over a year ago. As for not making much build more sell more. If your slow at something outsource it to someone who is fast. use the $231 to build 20 sites and flip for $1k/$2k time frame could be a week or 2 if you outsource.

Good Post.

So, correct me if I am wrong... You do not necessarily have to build a site so well that you are actually getting adsense income and the such??? Do you guesstimate the projected earnings and go with that? Thanks!

There are 2 main reasons why I would flip a site:

a) I built/bought it for the sole purpose of reselling for a profit
b) I have a portfolio of sites and it is not earning as well as others.

In terms of residual income, judge886 is spot on - a hosting reseller account could help you earn a nice monthly fee from sites you have sold, especially if you target newbies with brand new sites.

There are plenty of other ways to make a residual income from clients (see my post on $10 into $200 in a day) such as charging them a monthly maintenance fee, doing further SEO work for them, extra development work, selling more sites, affiliate programs (such as aweber). The possibilities are endless...

Think of it this way: I build a site for $30 bucks and it also earns me roughly $30 a month. I then sell that site for $250 and after listing fees. I'm left with $210. Now I have enough money to build 7 more sites than can earn me $30 a month. At the very least, I could just outsource most of the work and only build two more sites.

Of course, if I build a site that starts earning a couple hundred a month, I'll probably keep it in my portfolio.

Okay it is starting to make a little more sense. SO... I have been looking on here for some techniques to use, maybe a ebook but have not really been able to find anything. I am interested to give this a further shot and see if maybe this can be a moneymaker. Thanks!
