Hello BHW-friends,

is there a way to get a website deindexed without GSC?

Thanks for helping me out!

Cheers!

It was mine, but got suspended and I forgot GSC login data :(.

Maintenance mode for a month should do it.
I just did it with my 15 year old domain.

If it is yours, sure there is.. a Noindex tag should do it.. If it's not yours.. maybe don`t do it?:)
If WordPress is used, There is option to noindex website from admin panel. Its easy

"It was mine". You mean you don't own the site any more?

If you cannot access the code, the most you can do is do a removal claim, probably your best bet is try to go for DMCA claim and see if it works.

If you own the code, just set nofollow metas as already suggested, and wait for it to happen (be aware it may take months, or even years in some cases). DMCA claim is faster

The domain got suspended by its registrar :(.

However, the content is still indexed in Google. When visitors click on it, they just get a 500 blank page.

How long will it take for Google to deindex the site naturally?

Thanks in advance for your reply!

As I said it could take days, months or even years. It's not up to you and you cannot do a thing unless you fill the claims I already mentioned.

Why you care so much?

I would like to put the website on a new domain so Google can index and rank it again. Because the previous suspended domain is still indexed, Google might see it as duplicate content and not rank it at all, I guess?

Depending if the old domain had a big reputation + the causes of the suspension will or won't be a good decision

My suggestion for this, if you are headset on keeping your content, place “noindex” tags in your robots.txt file. You can also use a coming soon page plugin & select no index in the WP backend menu.

Afterwards, upload your content onto the new domain, verify your site (property) with GSC, and request indexing.

Note: I’m unsure of how Google will view this. It’s your content but seeing as the sites will be linked to two different GSC accounts. You should be fine, but maybe you should attempt to content them via their support or their official GSC twitter page. They update it frequently.
