Shorts auto-generated (3) thumbnails by Youtube

I am relatively new in shorts, and I have this issue

took one short from someone who really knows what he is doing

his thumb is generated by youtube and he spam uploads via xyz software most likely...

his thumb is perfect and short is 10 sec long, thumb comes on 4sec comma something

you can tell it's very targeted and shows exactly what the title of video is about

when I upload that to youtube I always get thumb from 5 sec lol no matter what I do

I was trying to understand how is this possible without uploading via some software

and the only thing that came to my mind is frame rate? Actually no idea as you might note

Please help... me. Thanks

Edit: my goal is manipulation of middle auto-generated thumbnail, I need to know why things not working the same way in this case, if possible.

Why don't you just add 1 sec at the beginning of the video so that youtube will generate the thumbnail you want?

I've done already around 20 times some adding back fort removing cut what can be cut and managed to have it where I want it

but...

desired thumb and what comes next must go together scene after scene and youtube is constantly picking that second scene lol

the one I don't want to appear, so I just quit trying

so much time consuming

my guess is that entire short is done with specific software and sent directly to youtube from there

or eventually can be done with a random software with frame rate adjust perhaps

let's see if anybody wants to say it (please tell)

from what I saw the middle one thumbnail will appear at channel no matter what

and that middle thumb is not 100% center of video

seems that youtube will decide what is better and take around middle if thinks that another scene is better

in my OP I speak about short that middle thumb is not center but is chosen
