How difficult would it be to create site like this?

Hi there.

A couple of months ago this site was listed on flippa: https://mybibleverses.org/

I've been wanting to build something similar for a while, I believe it has about 30,000 verses listed and it's starting to rank quite well.

I'm kinda new to the whole blogging/website building space, is there some kind of wordpress templates out there that works like this?

Would appreciate any info on how something like this can be built.

It's a custom theme.
Considering the logo name and the og the owner should be a russian guy.
If you hire a theme developer shouldn't be too much hard/expensive to replicate this.

It might be the best option to hire a theme developer, but I was hoping that there was already something similar out there to be honest.

Well if you're fine with having a different layout then you can arrange something with a theme I guess, it doesn't seems too much advanced

It is possible through custom CSS. It uses basic CSS coding and will be easy.

If you have the budget, the best option is to hire someone to do this. Alternatively you don't need the same or sophisticated design. If your content and content structure is good, you can rank on a simple theme as well.
