I just bought a domain on cybersecurity from expireddomains.

I thought the domain was simple and catchy.

GoDaddy suggests that I could sell it for 1154$ on their marketplace although I bought it for 9$/y, is it bs?.

Yes.

With these so called "appraisals", it creates a imaginary demand, and the idea you could buy a domain for $10 and sell it for thousands attracts many who don't understand the market, want easy money (don't we all?), etc. Estibot is the same automated goofball online thing. Don't believe it.

They make a fortune luring in people to their "auctions" where the previous registrant is looking simply for a free appraisal and then re-registers it. Buyer 1, Buyer 2, etc. that sort of non-traceable type of auction allows for all sorts of behind the scenes things to transpire- especially if it is for an auction from a non-dropped domain.

Study the market, plenty of domain name blogs and tracking sites. The old adage real auctioneers used to say before starting was "Caveat emptor".

The end price has nothing to do with the fact that you bought it for $9 or not, only a buyer from you decides if it is worth the money you want. If it is worth $1154 as godaddy suggest or the price you paid $9 or even $1M is all up to the end buyer. Take those domain valuation sites with a pinch of salt, they almost never valuate a domain in it´s real value.
