Give us your opinion and list the pros and cons you know.

SEO speaking, it should give some link juice to the inner blog posts, if you don't mind visitors clicking and forget to buy because they got distracted reading your beautiful prose?

If your homepage is your main traffic portal, you could remove blog, as you say it might distract customers from visiting your money pages.
If your main traffic is from inner pages, you can have a blog section on the homepage.

But to me, I care most about whether your blog section fits the design and UX of your homepage. That's the most important to me.

There is no harm is keeping a blog with eCommerce website.

If you feel it can distract your buyers from money pages, then burry the blog link in the footer and keep only 3 to five blog post thumbnails in the sidebar.

Blogs will fetch you additional organic traffic, so there is absolutely no harm in having one in your ecommerce site. In fact it will boost your online presence in some way or other.

I don't get it. Yes I have traffic from blog posts. Do you mean that in the sense that having links to the posts on the homepage will send link juice from them towards the homepage?

I know, I already have a blog for the site, but I'm asking about having a "recent posts" or "blog posts" section with a few featured posts on the homepage.

Yeah, like I said earlier, if you feel it will distract your buyers then don't just show them up in the home page too.

However, if I were you I wouldn't have mind keeping 4 to 5 featured posts section just above the footer or within the footer itself. Why miss those keyword rich h2 titles in home page?

I think that's why many stores put their blog link in the top bar or even footer, rather than the main menu, so it's accessible, but less distracting.

Or do you mean like "featured posts" on homepage?

I've made it my mission to lean more heavily on full commerce/blog sites, where I can display videos, posts, podcasts and merch in the shopping tab. Makes your site seem more of an authority on subjects rather than just a money making store.

Having posts on your homepage will send link juice from homepage to your posts because links from homepage is considered important and hold most weight.
You can stick or hand-select your most valuable posts on homepage, rather than simple 'recent posts' filtered by publish time. In this way you can promote and target your important posts.

As this member said, it's usually placed above footer to be less destructive for vistors.

Likewise, if you want to purposely promote some of your very well-written posts which can make you look like an authority and help convert, you can put them on top as well.

Convert blog page into review pages and interlink with main page products, this will bring good traffic
