Lost All My Savings Today

How? What happen?
I got over 70% on Trust wallet
I was hacked.

It seems I didn't write this well, what I meant to say is my trust wallet account was hacked today.

I lost all my savings which is in trust wallet today. The reason I save in crypto (usdt) is to be safe against inflation because I live in a third world country.

Now all my entire savings has been wipe out in a minute and there is nothing I can do to recover it.

Just want to share my grief here today, stay safe everyone.
sorry, but how does keeping something that is 1:1 pegged to USD help you againts inflation? maybe im missing something..

I'm not trying to say that crypto is scam/insecure but there are some facts. These devil exchanges might cause everything, literally everything.
you dont get his point, crypto is not the problem. its always a human error or greed in play.

Yeah, this was what I talk about. Since you can't cash out without exchanges, human-factor might effect you. It's all good if every single company starts accepting crypto as a payment method :)

lol. You don't have kaspersky internet security. It makes your PC detect virus and malware when you browse pirated software, pirated movies or porn.

Still wondering how you got hacked.
Trustwallet is mainly a phone app -- do you use android? did you download and executed any cracked softwares?
Or your recovery code just got in wrong hands?

I also use trust wallet and don't want to get f#cked, just trying to be honest.

Quite a year ago, someone just stole like $600 from my blockchain account because I had a virus on my computer and they just got all the login data.
Hope that something like this doesn't happen again, since I learned from my mistakes.

Maybe is Trustwallet just unsafe?

What happened mate, did you forgot your wallet's details?

sorry to hear mate
secure your system and start over.
youre not the first and wont be the last this happens to.
you can always make more $.

This is why, although boring and tiresome, it is worth 2FA to sign up, receive sms + email and all kinds of additional protection to make withdrawals in this type of app.

I have a few dollars in Trust Wallet but it is really very weak and easily hacked...if you are going to keep more money in the future, use Binance.

I literally jumped out of my sleep in the middle of the night when I realize I don't have backup of that wallet.

No, you can't. I respect the technology behind blockchain as a blockchain developer and I really think that it's more secure than regular banking but there is something you can't control, exchanges. It's not related with technology for sure.

If you hold stablecoins (except DAI):
- Tether or Circle can blacklist you (for example they blacklisted a lot of people using Tornado Cash)
- Remember the UST crisis (it's pretty hard for big stablecoins but not impossible. UST was really big)

If you hold BTC or other coins:
- You will need to exchange BTC at cheap rate in bear market. Yeah, we all HODL but irl you have to pay bills :)
Totally agree with you.

First off, no idea what Tornado Cash is.
Second, UST was not a stablecoin. It was an "algorithmic stablecoin".

As a developer, you should know the difference.
It's still was a stable coin

I know the difference but why? Can't a "normal" stablecoin crash? Tether lost its peg before, you might think that it's not a big deal but it's defo. Crash is possible because of exchanges. For example in luna crash, some exchanges let shorting UST :D And it sped up the crash process.

Btw, I'm not trying to say that crypto is scam/insecure but there are some facts. These devil exchanges might cause everything, literally everything.
What your saying is absolutely correct bro, stable coin can also crash . And UST prove it.

Sure I agree

But TrustWallet is a hardware wallet which works without login. There‘s only the 12 recovery words + a PIN code to enter the app.

Still wondering how his funds were swiped out…

Just a few hundred, scattered all around the place
you know.. gas fees and leftovers transferring from wallet A to B or from swaps etc
yeah ive lost a few cents like that over the years

Doesn't matter.

Doesn't matter.
