Does accepting guest posts on own Blog affect the DR?

Let me explain:

Let's say I have a blog with 50 DR and 100K monthly visitors.
I start accepting virtually any on request for guest posting on my own blog,
as long as they pay me a few hundred bucks.

Will this affect negatively my own blog? is this the reason why no one is really
accepting guest posts any longer and the only ones doing it for money are
spammy websites with low quality visitors?

I have been accepting guest posts for a long time but I don't do it more than 1-2 times a month and I always make sure that the content they provide is related to my niche, provides good value, and naturally blends into my website with a good number of internal links. I also never compromise on the guest post fee no matter if I don't get a guest post for several months.

Till now, I have never seen any negative effects in the past several years. Many blog owners simply don't accept guest posts because they just don't like to promote other blogs or have some fear of losing rankings but I don't think it has any effect on rankings as long as you do it properly and less frequently.

DR was created by ahrefs, google dont give a flyingg fuck about that metric. Just dont accept guestposts for money that will be gone in a week. Only accept from high quality sites only and youl be fine.

Or just do an inner page.

That's the bottom line!

If your editorial standards are so low that you will basically just accept any submission as long as they pay you the right amount of cash, that is going to have an effect eventually on the SEO value of your site and possibly your traffic.

You have to make sure that there is some sort of quality standard and that you are speaking to the needs of your audience.

If you got your monthly visitors primarily through buying backlinks and you're not paying attention to the overall user experience, it's only a matter of time before your number of monthly visitors will decrease.

The focus here is on maximizing your editorial control.

Remember, the easier it is for somebody to get a link, the less valuable that link is.

It is no surprise then that higher-quality blogs publish guest posts seldomly.

This indicates their higher level of editorial scrutiny.

Because if you're just going to publish anything, then the overall quality of your blog will suffer.

Many people do what you're doing, but they do it on a churn-and-burn basis.

Basically, they get an expired domain with decent SEO metrics, build it up, and sell backlinks.

Before you know it, the site goes to shit, and then they start all over again.

I'm not sure if that's a sustainable business model.

It helps tremendously to focus on quality and user experience from Day One.

The results may not come immediately, but it's worth it at the end.
