New Blog: Build backlinks or not?

I heard it's not safe to build backlinks as soon as your blog is created and launched.

My blog is 3 weeks old, has 20+ articles, it's 100% ready and 70% indexed on GGL.

Should I proceed and buy 1-2 backlinks from high DR sites (50+) once a week or is that
too much and I should do maybe once a month? Is there any rule I need to follow to not
get my website flagged by GGL?

GGL? you mean google? it is okay to build a couple links a week, especially if they are high quality. Go for it!

So, first you may want to answer a few questions/complete a few tasks if you haven't already:

- Is the site on all popular social media platforms (facebook, twitter, instagram if applicable, pinterest, etc)?
- Have you posted your content on said social media?
- How is your page load speed optimized? Are your images optimized?
- How is the mobile version of your website, does it need to be optimized?
- I assume if you're indexed then you probably already have a sitemap created.
- Do you have an SSL certificate (HTTPS)? If not, you should get one.

Those are the basic things that are usually done on websites that want to start sending backlinks.

I'd suggest starting with social media & moving to sites like Reddit, Tumblr, etc. Make your way into popular web 2.0's that you can maintain. After that, you're looking for foundational links (dr40+) on real websites. Build a couple backlinks per week and see how it goes.

Scale those numbers up a bit as post more content.

For Competition on Rank 1 The Problem is not just about Numbers, You should have a strategy, If you are in page 5 your competitors are not in the page 1, your realistic competitors are in page 4, you should plan step by step, Work on creating high quality content, Spy your competitors and grab their best backlinks, if your website is new , don't think about backlink for some first months, work on structure and content, indexing speed, ...

Think about what would happen organically with a site. Website goes up. Owner markets it within their circles. It gets shared on social media slowly and, especially these days, backlinks develop slowly. The more you look like this the more likely you won't raise eyebrows with google.

Make sure your on-page is as good as it can be, then work social media to spread the word. Social media can be a signal to google to index and it will help your long term growth so it's a good place to start. I believe google still at least crawls twitter so that's an option to start getting the site indexed even if you don't have a lot going on with backlinks yet.

To be honest, I don't think you have enough articles.

20 Plus articles isn't enough.

I would suggest that if you really want to increase your domain authority sooner rather than later, shoot for at least 100 to 150 or 200 articles.

Of course, it depends on your niche.

But given the fact that there are lots of PAA topics out there, this shouldn't be an issue.

The key is to deliver a consistent quality and experience to people pulling up your content during Google searches.

Interlink your content based on categories.

Focus on establishing a unique identity in terms of your writing style, your information presentation, and the overall look and feel of your site.

These are the things that you can control.

But focusing mostly on backlink building when you haven't really laid out a sufficient infrastructure for future success and growth is short sighted to say the least.

Its okay to build some backlinks but not too much as you are in the begining and this will look suspicious to google ,i think its a better idea to biold few and natural
Also if you can focus more on building content also for your website

Getting some social shares and some pinging would be safe , getting some quality post would make it work , but cant apply blackhat over it this soon .
