Hey everyone. I was building backlinks to my site when I noticed I had used branded anchor text for almost every single one of my backlinks. I did a little research and decided to make %25 of them exact or partial. Do you guys go with a ratio similar to this, is it safe to use?

Plus, are different anchor text percentages used for posts/pages vs homepage? I suppose they'd have some sort of a difference naturally since the intent placing the said backlinks would be different. Would be happy if any of you could give some input

Try to keep your ratio looking a bit more natural. For instance, only use your main keyword 10-25% of the time. What you're looking for is a healthy/normal diversity in the anchor text ratio.

Obviously, you want branded anchors (anchors that include your brand, the name of your brand, not exact URL) to be the most used anchor. 25-35% tops.

Using your URL/Domain name as an anchor, you can do that 15-20% as well, AKA naked anchors.

LSI keywords are keywords related semantically to your main keyword. You can have his ratio around 15-20% as well.

So, in summation:
Main/exact keyword: 10-25%
Branded: 25-35%.
Naked/URL: 15-20%
LSI 15-20%.

Ensure that it looks natural. That's the key. Varying diversity.

The homepage should be near the higher end of the top anchor text percentages in both mine & seo_alexa's list. You want get a good brand authority ratio stabilized.

The inner pages should still have a high brand ratio %, but it should also be targeting keywords. Targeting LSI keywords & exact match depending on what the inner pages are about.

The inner pages would theoretically help emulsify the main keyword/exact match among the other LSI/related keywords.

Thank you for the advice. Very useful. By the way, do you have any tips for determining the best LSI keyword?

You don’t use any generic anchor text?

Naturally, genuine people who link back to websites tend to do so using either the brand name or the author's name e.g. "according to Konyagi from Blackhatworld". So, it goes without saying that the search engines expect these kinds of anchors to be predominant in your link profile if you're getting those links organically. That said, it's always wise to have a few exact match anchors but that should be done sparingly lest the "Masters of the Universe" accuse you of attempting to spam the web.

Can someone show us how does all of these links looking ?

I see some in google, but there is chaos information.
  1. Branded Anchor Text: This type of anchor text includes the name of a brand or company as the linking text. For example, "Microsoft" linking to Microsoft's official website.
  2. Naked Anchor Text: This type of anchor text is just the URL or website address itself, without any surrounding text. For example, "https://www.google.com".
  3. Exact Match Keyword Anchor Text: This type of anchor text uses exact keywords or phrases as the linking text that match the content being linked to. For example, "best hiking boots" linking to a page about the best hiking boots.
  4. Latent Semantic Indexing (LSI) Anchor Text: This type of anchor text uses related words or phrases to the main keyword instead of the exact keyword. For example, "best footwear for hiking" instead of "best hiking boots".
  5. Generic Anchor Text: This type of anchor text uses generic terms like "click here", "read more", "visit site", etc. as the linking text. For example, "click here" linking to a page about dog grooming.

thank you so much !

I have try a lot of formulas they don’t work. Just build few phrase match on pages you can edit and then watch. If ranking increases, build same ratio of brand anchor and another bunch of phrase match.

these percentages are just made up, imo .. Just vary it up and see what works. Every nich/website etc is different. the idea that there is some magic formula is silly.
