My ranking keeps changing

Hello. I experience ups and downs in rankings on a daily basis. Is that the case with you too? I suspect the Google dance.

If you have a good experience in SEO you know this normal. I would worry if there is a sudden drop of 30-40%

The first thing i would be looking at is if there are any recent google updates.

It's normal. Not only does Google remove and bring back keywords on the same day, but they also shuffle them around artificially just so you can get a similar amount of traffic as yesterday. Nothing organic about that. But there are other factors why this happens, as others have mentioned: competitive niche, crawling delay and errors, Google updates, etc.

1. for your primary keyword, what is your ranking?
2. do you notice the dance in the top 5 position for this keyword as well?

Google dance is something that every site has to face and not much can be done about this.

Yeah, its completely normal on most niches. Those markets that are highly regulated are the only exception.

So simply enjoy the dance.

It seems this will happen only for a certain period.

Track the traffic data for another week. This may help to predict if it is due to Google dance or not.

I suggest that always keep an eye on your competitors forever.

Google dance is common for all the niches. You just wait for few weeks and monitor once its settled. Small changes wont affect you too much. if its high then you need to some research after that.
