Hello. I'm considering accepting a paid guest post. A weight loss clinic (using non-FDA-approved medication). The keyword is "find a local weight loss clinic". I'm confused. Will this harm my site? What is your suggestion?

I think it should not be a problem.

for safety you can mention that it is not approved by FDA.

How do I know if the site is spam? When I looked at Semrush, it was ranked in many keywords.

Always better to use Disclaimer statement , if you are not feeling good about the content of the article.

I suggest to not worry about this actually.

Check all the metrics of the site/Blog for which you are going to link and it's backlink profile.

You can easily get an idea about linking to that site/blog.

No, it will not harm your site. Just make sure to add the disclaimer about the content at the bottom of the article or even at the top (beginning of the article).

Also make sure you accept a fixed number of posts per month. If you accept every another that pays you few bucks, you will not be able to control the quality of the site's content. Your audience will move away from your site seeing the poor quality information.

This might have a serious impact on your rankings based on Google's YMYL initiative.

If it has an impact on people's lives and it is medical in nature, this can be an issue.

Now, if in the future, somebody approaches you targetting the same keyword of "find a local weight loss clinic" and they're promoting another product, this might end up "diluting" whatever damage your first placement caused.

You have to understand that YMYL right now is kind of a crapshoot.

My best guess is that you probably will be able to get away if you take this paid guest post offer.

But it's a question of how long will you continue to get away.
