Does anyone know if "keyword traffic" is effective with SEO? I actively build link but recently found there is something else competitors must be using at times. Someone I know says keyword traffic is a key thing, to click from google to the site, and then stay on a page for a min or less, to lower bounce rate and tell google the page is popular. Does this work? Shall I keep investing in this method? Person I know claims after a month or two it can even get high on top page.

what the hell is keyword traffic??

If you mean CTR then, yes, high CTR tells google that your page (well, its title at least) is relevant to the search query, so you might get rewarded with better rankings. But it's not always guaranteed

If you are referring to how much a keyword is searched, then it's just an estimate, as sometimes keywords can be searched a lot in a span of time,, so focus on the niche rather than on keywords

If you're talking about estimated searches for your keyword targets, it can be a good SEO method if you know how to use such keywords properly.

Many people think that as long as they mention a keyword in text, they will get something close to the monthly search volume of that keyword if they rank number one.

This is not true!

First, you're only going to get a percentage of the keyword's estimated monthly search volume if you rank number one.

Let's say you managed to do that.

But if you don't deliver on the search intent of the keyword, you're not going to retain your ranking.

Also, these monthly search volume estimates are exactly that — estimates.

Because when you use different paid SEO tools, their monthly search volume estimates vary quite a bit.

A lot of this has to do with the projections of keyword variations.

You can't base everything on the monthly search volume.

Instead, focus on just how relevant the keyword is.

According to paid SEO tools, having enough relevance is a good indicator that your target keywords are supposed to get traffic.

That's a good place to start.

But exactly how much traffic you get depends on how you target those keywords and how many other variations you rank for because of the quality of the content that you use to target your keyword.
