Howdy hey everyone I'm Nou5 aka Nous, By definition: "common sense; practical intelligence."
I've ran a YouTube channel for the past 5 years producing niche relevant top quality content.
I have lurked BHW since I think like 2007 or 2008, coming and going as needed to do research.
I've legit been video editing and making videos for around 17 years.

Ok, now that you know where I started lets get back on topic.
Youtube DON'Ts.
I'm going to share all the things I have tried on YouTube, The results they yielded, And the summary of why they are DON'Ts.
DESCLAIMER: Before you read this holyfkmelongtime thread im writing, I think I should mention a few things.
My channel is what you call traditional posting (film random content surrounding a niche upload video NOT IN SERIES)
My channel is not geared toward maximizing profit disregarding organic growth or retention or a community.
My channel goals are not to copy paste Mr beast, but to put my own spin on it, and yield similar results (Money / Do what I love to do for a living and get paid for it.)
Hopefully this thread can save you and others alike aholyfkmelongtime amount of time & money.
At the end Is going to be the MOST important part of the entire thread, feel free to skip through but read the end summary.
1.)Copyright, Early on in my YouTube days I used to ignore the Copyright warnings for music because I wanted to use current songs, and songs that flowed with my videos almost like songs in movies. Songs that would give the viewer a vibe.
Not thinking about monetization being number one priority because I was thinking I had a long time before that mattered anyways.
Well all those videos that could have earned additional funds were now useless and a threat to my community guidelines strikes.
Avoid this.
2.) Sub for sub or exchange sites, back in the day there were and still are websites that networked people to exchange subscribers/views/likes for points. And you would in exchange then spend your points on your channel.
Very early on people found out about macros, and scripts to auto sub and built up mass amounts of points to spend. The best part was there were scripts to MASS unsubscribe from everything you subscribed to so you could clean up your YouTube accounts feed when you were done getting your points.
Pretty much everyone uses these mass unsubscribe scripts so results are probably around a 10% keep and 90% drop.

3.)SMM Panels, If your goal is to get your channel monetized fast this is a excellent option. You can yield decent results, there are many options available and most accept paypal now days when contacted.
If bitcoin/crypto is hard for you to understand or you're just not sure where to start I'd suggest Coinbase, Only set back is they have ridiculous fees they claim a 1% transaction fee but I'm pretty sure it's around 7%.
But it is fast secure and efficient.
If your goal is to make your channel appear super popular an SMM panel can get you there, I've tried many panels and they all function differently.
Some take forever to process. Some are buggy and don't process every order the same so you have to open tickets and wait for refund. And some lack features but are fast and work properly.
Almost all services from SMM panels eventually drop off. Views are fairly stable now with less drop %, Subscribers are hit or miss, I've experienced drops over 2000 subscribers.
SMM panels are fantastic for inflating an image, If you're trying to make your channel look popular it can achieve this with lots of money.
4.) Setting up your own bot/s: So there is a few things you will need to acquire prior to settling on software!
Proxies: You cannot just swing any list of proxies at some software and expect to yield results if any at all!
I've tried data center proxies and the entire ip range was shadow banned, money down the drain and the seller promoted use for social media...
This is what it looks like when your proxies are shadowbanned. They will all load like this.
I have occasionally seen this on good proxies too, but if they all are loading like this, you just got duped.
You need to make sure your proxies are 100% unlimited bandwidth, YouTube videos generate some serious bandwidth when you're running multiple threads.
One thread in software can = up to 6 proxy threads, so if you have proxies that support 80 threads, your software may not run optimally after 13 threads.
Not running optimally means slow load times, no load times. timer is running for view time, end result low retention.
Quality Residential Rotating proxies are going to be your goto for yielding good results.
Keep in mind that rotating proxies usually switch on intervals ranging from 3mins, 6mins, 10mins, 15+mins.
Depending on your goals choose what you will need. mass views 3mins works, high retention 15+mins can work.
Geolocation is super important as well depending on your goals.
Mass views any location will work.
Higher paying ads, you will want US EU locations.
I've researched mobile 4g proxies are the most sought after for yielding absolute best results.
This is due to mobile proxies being unbannable or some shit.
If your goal is to just increase views, you can use software and residential proxies and be on your way.
if you want to throw Likes/Comments/Subscribes into the mix you will need Accounts.
Accounts:
There are two methods of accounts you can and can't use for some things.
a.) Aged Accounts, with login pass, recovery data etc.
b.) Cookies for rent.
a.) Super expensive everywhere I have searched/tried. Hit or miss when logging in. But unlimited on the functions they can perform.
b.) Not near as expensive, limited availability usually sold by the software host, can't perform all task's but can sub and like / watch.
Subscribes: Accounts/Cookies
Likes: Accounts/Cookies
Comments: Accounts (Not sure about all software some may be able to comment with cookies)
You can buy aged gmail accounts that have youtube setup already but this can get pricey FAST.
You can sometimes "rent" cookies which are accounts that are already signed in and this is a much cheaper alternative, down side is the rentals are per month because that's how long it stays logged in for.
Your software can watch videos without accounts but the algorithm absolutely puts you at the back of the list when it see's this as it's blatantly obvious.
here is an example:
RAM: The software I use is a miniature black hole.
CPU: Who needs central heating?
So please consider these things before deciding on using software.
Proxies, Accounts, RAM, CPU, Software.
Ok ok I get it you are not deterred easily neither am I!
Looking back now here are a few things to consider prior to choosing software.
Features to look for:
Does it offer cookies rental?
Does it skip ads?
Does it use Ai to browse the page at random?
Does it use Ai to pause the video at random?
What view functions does it have?
(Other than direct link views)
Can it do multiple functions in a single take?
(Watch video, like video, sub to channel, goto channel, pick random video, watch random video, repeat.)
Keep in mind that rotating proxies usually switch on intervals ranging from 3mins, 6mins, 10mins, 15mins.
Can it perform your tasks in that given time? Does it have settings to allow you to calculate what it can do within those times?
5 minute videos you will need 15min+ to make one IP/Account watch and like 2 of your videos in one take.
FINAL SUMMARY
Ok so here is the most important part, The part where I've decided to come out of lurking and reach out to you all.
If you want to 100% blow up, go viral or build a community of merch buying fiends, Black hat methods can only net you some results. It takes alot more than ranking #1, or having a huge sub count like 100k, or everything you have originally thought or expected. Throw it all out the window because what I'm about to share with you will forever reshape how you proceed with your YouTube goals from here on out. If your goals are strictly cash cow channels you may still have methods of success with the above mentioned. But for those looking to go the traditional route take a look at this shit...
Alogorythmish:
Ranking a video to the #1 slot for any keyword/s is possible using software.
I've done it several times now and maintained these spots.
Depending on how high of volume/velocity the keywords are, your bot will not keep up with organic traffic.
So organic traffic is going to trump your perfect world scenario with botting.
If your video is shit and retention dips due to organic traffic, so does your ranking.
If your video is not shit but engagement is low(no organic likes comments subs, view channel, and other content) your video dips.
Let's say you go the SMM route, add some comments, likes, high retention views, subs, and even chip off some coin for the keyword views to bump that sweet CTR% up!
This is absolutely useless because the algorithm has a 3rd eye around it's arse hole and it see's this!
You best believe that brown eye knows whose naughty and whose nice, and is willing to put your ranking or potential on ICE!
But wait there's more!
So lets say you got Nous "common sense; practical intelligence." and you research some medium/high traffic keywords and use your software to rank a video,
Your software tongue punches the algorithms 4th/brown eye with some "perfect world" results.
OhFKyeaBud this video is ranking #1 on several medium/low keywords, and maintaining a healthy dose of subscriber watch time from my "perfect world" software.
But for some reason it's not bringing the organic followers home and CPM (Basically how much you earned per 1000 ad views) is absolute garbage?
And the rest of the channel struggles organically...
Tabitha is to blame
Right above that 4th algorithm brown eye is the epicenter of reasons why using these methods will not result in success, it's name I feel should be Tabitha, idk why but I feel like that's what it should be called.

So basically lets break this down and summarize again.
Ranking videos #1 = Algorithm
Bringing in organic niche traffic through suggested videos = Tabitha
Sure you might get 1k organic views a month from ranking videos, or even 10k. Per video. But why not more?
Well we already talked about how organic traffic can out perform your bot and cause dips or even crashes in rank.
We already talked about how the 4th brown eye knows whose channel is naughty or nice, and the ice.
Where it's blatantly obvious what your channel is doing subbed view time vs non subbed.
Basically that leaves the suggestion/suggested video algorithm, Tabitha's algo, is what can crank out millions of niche views.
Am I saying don't use these methods? NO. I'm saying don't waste your time if your goals are similar to mine.
Next up on my list of experiments, is to literally hand craft a web of accounts that watch and follow similar niche content.
and shove this web up Tabitha's ass. Stay tuned for results.
Also any providers want to test this theory out, I'm willing to help test / develop this web. If successful I'd say it's absolutely worth whatever cost justifiable.
Extra info for you cashcow channel guys/gals and the curious:
I took a 7 month break from YouTube once. My channel saw the MOST organic growth during this time, and had one video go viral.
Speculating it's due to SEO doing it's work without bots clouding up the algo/tabs.
Method to ranking any video #1 I think alot of my success has to also come from having a legitimate 5yr account with legit content / channel/branding etc.
I don't want to share my method publicly as these methods seem few and far between.
Top Geographies directly impacts CPM. ($$$)
Skipping adds VS watching adds directly impacts CPM. ($$$) by ALOT!!!
I'm talking the difference between $50/mo per video and $500/mo
But mass watching full ads = drops = No $
Does high views count help videos rank? Organically yes if your video is competing with other videos on similar topics users typically click yours first.
Does high sub counts help your channel rank videos? Nope not even in the slightest.
How important is title? 90% Important
How important is thumbnail? in that 90%.
How important are tags? 10% they can help rank your title.
How important is the description? 10% helps overall. According to VidIQ it's life or death.
Final words.
The algorithm cannot take advantage of all of your hard work if you cloud it's vision with results that do not make sense.
If your video is Titled: Why I love cats.
Thumbnail is kitty of kitty's.
Description is an encyclopedia of trending kitty info.
Tags are researched properly and on topic with the title etc.
And your subscribers watch videos that absolutely have nothing to do with kittys, videos about some jit on fortnite trying to make it big with his aimbot that he doesn't "actually" use.
or some DIY makeup channel, or someone elses cashcow series videos. It can't even pin down a niche.
How can it recommend you, It might go out on a limb and recommend it a few times, but it's going to recommend it to the wrong people and they ain't about to watch no kitty video so that impression is lost, and your CTR cries as it dwindles down to nothing. Best part the more you use it the more the channel loses it's tags credibility.
When I was competing in a unsaturated niche at the height of the trend, I followed two competitors closely.
One I will call Paul The other I will call Peter.
I watched Paul create content that legitimately was solid content that grabbed you and sucked you in for the whole video. his content was gooooood.
Paul's videos were pre fabricated before hand and optimized to keep you watching till the end. His open was perfect, and your vision was clear what you were in for. He kept the video fluent and rolling cutting out ALL boring bits.
I started following Paul when he had 50k subscribers and a shit ton of botted comments.
Peter was in the same niche but had around 10k subs, shit thumbnails, shitter content, fast forward a year Paul was at 800k subs, peter just hit 50k and they did a Collab.
The collab didn't met much on either end but peter invested in a healthy amount of subs bringing him up to 70k.
All the while these guys are bumping their videos views to look legit 200-300k views each Paul 300-500k each sometimes more.
Fast forward again paul is over 1mil and maintaining the views to back it up.
Peter on the other hand just edged 100k and maintaining 30-100k views per video, some videos only 5-6k.
But I noticed that peters videos had alot of good work put into SEO especially title wise. Aka (he's struggling)
Paul now over 3 mil subs, averages 1mil views per video. no tags, whatever title, but still follows trends.
Peter now 5-6k every other video, randomly 300k on videos, and under 100k subs sitting around 80k. OOOOF.
Can you fake it till you make it? you can as long as the bank can. But if your content is ass, your results will also be ass.
How the FK they were able to afford the views like that will be a mystery to me.
