Gee the spam they would and do get might clog them up if you did not have to wait! Stop thinking your stuff is that important that it needs to get out in ONE second. Relax, it will be okay and if you have good content then it will get out REALLY fast in comparasion to many others....
To be honest, if you paid you would get a lot more articles out there linked up to you as well. Just my two cents but, I own LOTS of directories that post them up quickly...
