Freebies asking for posts on my website

I often get requests like "I will write 800 words high-quality article for your site and all I want is one link in return" for an automotive blog of mine.

No way they are going to pay for the link.

But I still want to know how to make use of such requests that can benefit me in the long term.

Right now I have no idea.

Just reply them it's a NF for free and for DF they need to pay .... as it goes into sponsored post category.
Also an extra .... you can get the homepage link.

But there is no harm in giving a few for free if the article is really good quality and optimized.

Just make use of them if the article is good in quality. But the link should have relevant niche.

If they can not afford to pay but good in writing, ask for 5 articles for 1 link in one of the articles.
