How to start earning from flipping!

Hi there,

Today I will QUICKLY try and manage to teach you the basics about site flipping. 1st, I would like to say flipping sites on DigitalPoint is usually a waste of time. If you look, most sites NEVER sell there. I suggest trying flippa.com. So what you are going to do is go to Flippa and click "Just Sold". Here you will need to open a new notepad or just write this down somewhere and make a point forum list of all the similarities in the sites. The most recent selling was a blog. Sold for $1599. Had just over 75 articles on it. Here is some extra info:
Established: 19 Nov 2009
Uniques (per month): 1,000
Page Views (per month): 3,190
Gross Revenue (per month): $177
Now, that isn't hard to get at all. So buy a domain, and some hosting, just buy the cheapest hosting plan. I suggest .com as it is more professional but it really doesn't matter. Now, build some links. YouTube and Yahoo Answers are great for this. After that, do a bit of link building each day and it should be fine! Post it up on flippa and see what you can do. If you fail, find your mistakes, fixed them, and try again! :)

They were promoting ClickBank products.
They claim there traffic is from ezinearticles and starting to get some from Google.

@OP: If it was only that easy .... (then I'd be out of business, lol)

The fact of the matter is that the seemingly small part of a $177 revenue per month IS hard to achieve - and in many cases, extremely hard (if you don't know what you're doing - that is). And THIS (and mainly this) is what defines the price of this blog-type site.

Just my 2p ;)
 
Good advice on the checking just sold on Flippa - gives you a good idea on what sells and what doesn't (although my argument is that anything sells its just how you present it). I think you are slightly underestimating how hard it is to get to the revenue you mentioned, the time and money spent might not be worth the return. I'm going to write a post later about the keep/flip decision as in this case I would probably have kept the above site. Nice try though :)

@byanon HEY! I read you eBook on selling eBooks on DP, 1. it was VERY helpful but you also make it easier than it sounds. ;P I can't sell a eBook more than 4 times (at $7 each like you said). I know its not as easy as I said, but I like to gain people confidence. I don't think thats a bad thing... ?

@meathead I also seen you everywhere lol, you are both VERY popular people, anyways yeah, I know. I am noob, but I am just trying to help out other noobs. Same response to you about the "easy" part of it. Although, I do agree with the sales page part. I learned this fallowing brayon's DP ebook on selling ebooks on DP :P. Before I read his eBook, I got 0 sales, did it again and got 4 sales. :0 So sales page or how you present it means everything.

Wouldn't describe myself as VERY popular but hey anything goes. Don't judge a book by its cover :P

It's easy once you know what you're doing - but sometimes if you've put all the work in to get the revenue where you want it to be (ie profitable) it's a shame to sell it. I tend to only sell sites if: I've bought them to flip, I need money (lol), it's not making as much as I'd hoped or traffic/rev has started to drop.

I'll have that post up tomorrow sometime regarding flip/keep decision
 
I am not calling you a book. ;P And yes, you seem to very popular, I seen you MANY times on here before. Probably one of like the top 5 most popular I know on here. Plus I think I have you on MSN.

Also, I just started a JV with someone, we are sharing the SEO part and stuff. Should be pretty decent. Hopefully I can read my goal (read my sig). :)
 
You've probably seen me a lot lately as I've been slacking off work and posting on here instead :P I have loads of people on MSN don't keep track.

P.s. Don't judge a book by its cover is a saying - basically means just because someone has high posts/rep/thanks/vip - doesnt mean they are necessarily popular :)

Yeah, look at my post count, I been here for a while too, lol. Havn't been doing much. Failed at about 10 different methods here already so, I been slacking too... :P

Lol, I wish! I'm a fulltime student so don't make that much. Don't think you could make that much flipping unless you were selling BIG sites each day - which isn't that easy. You should EASILY be able to bank 100 bucks a day without doing too much though - which isn't bad considering you're 15 right? :)
 
I know, I was joking. Considering I worked 30 hours for $60 last week... I am sorta desperate for a better money technique. And I'm 14. Dude if I could make $100 in 5 hours working my bloody fucking ass off, I would be happy. I am so desperate right now. $60 since my joining date: November.

Mate when I was your age life was brilliant, I spent my entire time out with my friends and only had about $10 to my name :)

It takes time and is never an overnight process. Flipping has quite a steep learning curve, and personally I lost a few $k before I became profitable.

What kind of stuff can you do? Can you build basic sites? I'm sure I can help you make more than that :)
 
Well, I see them like 8 hours of the day so then after school we go home and play call of duty and I multitask with BHW. ;) I have cracked dreamweaver. I know how to use that. I been running a forum with 5k members registered and 300+ uniques a day. I can backlink. I cannot invest, if you want to know why, PM me.

And money is becoming more and more important to me. I want to drive a decent car, I will probably be buying one in 16 months ish, so I want to gather some money. Also, my dad drives around a convertable and a brand new $80,000 Ford truck... and so I don't want to drive around a piece of shit that has like 5 different colours of paint on it, and missing some windows and has 4 different tires on it. I want to get a sweet car and pick up some hot girls... :D

No it doesn't cost that much. You need decent hosting a good .com name and money to outsource your work if you want to make some good money. Writing up articles and submitting back links yourself is tedious and boring work, still they are needed to rank for decent keywords to see an income in your site. If people want to make some good money website flipping I highly suggest you outsource that work and leave the keyword research to yourself.
