Interesting question.
I think both channels are good for those who know how to use them. In my case, social media works very well. I know how to create interesting content and promote it with spam and have had good results. I don't know much about SEO, so I can't competently compare these areas.
The only thing I can say about SE and Telegram, yes there is much more traffic, but in Telegram you can catch some very hot clients.

For example, I use a script that constantly monitors a large number of groups for certain keywords. If someone posts a keyword from my list, that user will get to me at the same moment.

Yes, I do dms, invites and a few other things.
It all depends on how aggressively you are spamming.
About 45 messages in aggressive spamming.
If it's several messages per day from one account and users don't report, the account can live a lot longer.

If you have never experienced account registration, you are better off buying them.
The best way to get people to join your channel is by sending mass messages.
You'll have to come up with a very engaging text or any other creative.
You can also promote your channel by inviting people to your child chat room.
Remember, your channel must be of interest to people or all your work will not pay off.

I don't use paid Telegram advertising because it's a lot more expensive than good old spam.
Other than that, yes, I build funnels and sell different products/services.
