Why this site is #1 on Google?

It's not my niche I was just "passing by" when researching. Anyone willing to tell me why this site http://screwpullwineopener.com/ is #1 for keyword "Screwpull Wine Opener", when this this site http://screwpullwineopener.net/ (It's xFactors theme at work... xD) has more links and content in it. Anyone?

the dot com seems to have been around since March 15, 2006.
the dot net is only, what, November 1 2009?

That might be the only advantage they have. 1 backlink vs. 0 backlink...who's slacking?!

It has to do with multiple factors one being the .com has been around since 2006 the .net is still a newbie with a reg date of November 09.

I have no doubt that it is related to the age of the domain. Both sites are quite poorly built. An easy microniche for someone to dominate!

Actually, for an adsense site, I would say the dot net really is up to par...
Any experienced feedback on this? I really don't see much more that would be needed to get a few adsense $$ rolling, other than more content.

If I would want to go for this, I wouldn't reveal it here, you know... I'm asking for your opinions, because I really want to know why the hell is it like that. Sure domain age is different, but is it really the only factor?

From what I can tell, it will just take a little bit of time for the G to see the newer one as being more important. Almost four years of holding that position, it will just take time.

SEO is not something you dominate over night. Maybe its the age of the domain or just linked to really good sites.

If you're not first and you only have 37 backlinks you should be building more. I mean if your competition has 0, it shouldn't take that many more for you to pass them.
