Backlinks, are they worth it?

I was like most people and focus on linking but after coming across Incomeschool i got curious.

Can people compare lets say a 5 year old domain from their websites and a regular blackhat linking with similar domain age and genre? Who ranks higher, and who has the best traffic

Looking into their ranking on google they can rank 1 of tons of keywords with basically 0 backlinks. This goes against 90% of what seo pros say but it works?

Incomeschool.com = Whitehat blogging mainly

Does anyone knows a reliable site that boosts/indexes backlinks?

yes

To answer your question in short - yes.

Backlinks are basically a vote in favour of the content on your site.

However, you can rank without them (my journey is proving that) if you target low competition / traffic keywords.

The more competitive the keywords become, the more likely it is that you'll need backlinks to stay ahead of the competition.

I am not an SEO expert, but i hear people driving some traffic with QUALITY backlinks.
Im searching for a solid backlink guy if you guys recommend anyone!

Frankly speaking, this makes no sense.

If both domains/websites have been publishing quality content for ovee 5 years they would gave definitely attracted lots of quality links. It'll get to a point it won't matter who started out building links initially.

If Google is yet to penalize your site due to backlinks acquisition, who is to say your site is blackhat? Like I do say, virtually all websites engage in backlinks acquisition one way or the other and that by itself is blackhat whether you're buying 'whitehat' guestpost links or you're begging a publisher to replace a broken link with your link.
In the eyes of Google it's all the same thing; backlink acquisition.

No site would rank for long in a competitive niche without strong backlinks. You could doubt this all you want, it is the reality.
You could get away with no links in low search volume, low competition niches but not in competitive niches.

Keep in mind that backlinks are as upvotes for your site.
No upvotes = no rankings.

That's the thing. You need to build a moat around your site. SEO is just too competitive to be complacent. And I am sorry to break it to you but those selling the "passive income" dream of writing a lot of content and then doing nothing, are full of crap.

You need backlinks to stay ranked for even 0 competition keywords.
Think again before sidelining the backlinks, it isn't viable.
Sorry... should I start digging the trenches now?

Some people have tanked content without creating any backlinks by themselves. It is rare, this happens when content is so special that related websites automatically link to it.

I've ranked a lot of sites without backlinks.

The downside is if you're in a hurry, backlinks give you a quick boost.

But the downside with that is that you have to be very careful where you buy your backlinks from.

Ideally, if you are going to go the PBN route, build your own PBN from hand-selected, vetted, and verified expired domains.

Do it yourself.

Create a closed system.

But if you buy PBN links from random PBN sellers, there's a good chance that things will go south sooner rather than later.

If you don't believe me, just ask around regarding the latest May to June update by Google.

It was brutal.

A lot of that has to do with EAT but many experts are also saying that it has something to do with overall link value.

At the end of the day, you can't afford to run this risk.

Make sure that you will buy links only from places that you can trust.

Ideally, you should buy links from real websites.

I'm talking about sites that actually generate money on their own and backlinks are just a quick way of making extra cash.

Steer clear of professional link sellers who build sites just to sell links because if they sell to somebody who is careless and they get busted by Google, please understand that it's only a matter of time until Google connects the dots and busts you as well.

It really would be sad to see all the hard work that you put into your website all go up in smoke because you bought from somebody who just basically would sell links to everybody.

very interesting observation. Did you really notice different sites that got backlinks from the same group of PBNs going down in ranking, because the PBN became known by the big G?

i want to ask you a question: Why people say "to get pbn alive and powerfuel it is necessary to post new article inside" and second question is
I have an italian website, can I buy English PBN? 3) do you advice to me any good service of PBN ? Thanks

For a WH site I would focus on HARO, but doing it manually and legit, not outsourcing it to some cheap service. And also social media backlinks. Yes, they matter. Just like the authority of the domain matters imo.

When there is zero competition and you are the first one who arrive at the party, that's not called "rank".

How do you "rank" when there is no competition? You are merely "claiming" the top spot, because there's simply no one else.

The real ranking comes when competition joins the party.

That is when you realize you didn't have enough fuel (backlinks/authority/votes/whatever you call it) to "rank".

Of course, article quality matters too. But we are talking about backlinks here.
