You should check those guys building sites around PAA here on the forum. Those keywords have very small to zero MSV and yet they manage to drive a crazy amount of traffic - just search those threads.

they drive a lot of traffic because they publish thousands of articles (scraped), eventually the sites get deindexed or will get deindexed in the future. It's a spammy technique that won't stand the test of time.

Zero search volume can go either way (traffic from another related term or no traffic at all) but I would advise against it. Plenty of search terms with decent volume and low competition.

OK, if you want to rank for "lskfjsklfjvddfvvslfjvl slfkjsfdsljv dksd" then don't waste your time... nobody searches for it.
As MisterF said... use them now and then... sometimes you hit decent keywords and then optimise for them.

MSV is zero? Nobody uses this keyword, Why would you need to work on it?

Zero volume keywords are very important for SEO and, especially if we´re talking about a brand new site on a brand new domain.

In this stage, building topical relevance is far more important than the ranking or organic traffic potential a keyword can generate for your site.

Personally, I would NOT discard the usage of a keyword just because it has zero search volume. For me, building relevance is far more important than writing content around a keyword just because it can generate me X monthly visitors.

And before anybody come here and comment "I don´t care about generating organic traffic", that's just not the case and is just absurd.

My point is, that I prioritize relevance over organic traffic potential because, once my site has gained authority, I can target more valuable keywords.

I would only say "0 MSV keywords are not ZERO actually".
They aren't useless you just need to use them in a better way.
Any keywords that are Relevant to the article topic add value.
I am not a big fan of any of the SEO metrics apart from filtering the domains.

Some of my highest earners are zero-volume keywords, as various tools assume they have no traffic but they end up having tons. You can also check Google autosuggest results to see if it shows up, meaning people have searched for it.

Also there's a high likelihood you will end up ranking for other related keywords at the same time if you make good content.
