I was looking into Bengal cats, but we didn't find any TICA breeders that were close. I know they are very strong and [My favorite football team ironic]. I would love another cat but my wife and dad are not up for it. We have a British shorthair silver-shaded cat. She was supposed to be a show cat but we didn't care for that as she is just fine just being a regular cat.

We had a British Shorthair classic blue girl before, nice, but it just favored my son, guess she had a taste of who the boss was .. =)

British shorthair cats that happen to be females usually are attached to one person as they are mostly better for people that live on their own. My cat is not people friendly and tends to only spend time with my dad and me at times, but she will not engage much as she is always nervous.
It's nothing personal with the cat; it just happens to be the breed and the sex of the animal. The males are more friendly and are entirely different {not being sexist], but yes that is what I found out after a lot of research after I bought my cat. I still love her with all my heart and would love her if she didn't have any legs or anything as she is family.

I had a British Shorthair about 8 years ago. She was 15 years old when I got her the shelter, and I think the previous owned just passed away. She was a few days away from getting put down, so I brought her home and she lived another 3 years. She was a great cat, although she did have a tendency to get cranky and her pickiness with how her food was prepared could be a bit much.
I lucked out with my Bengal cat. I went through an adoption agency that was looking for someone who had experience with Bengal cats. I actually happened to have prior experience with taking care of them, so I've had her with me these last 7 or so years. She's 16 pounds of muscle and bigger than a regular cat, but she's the nicest cat (to my wife and I, not to others) that I've ever had.

Ok, did not know that about the males. But yeah, she loved us both and sleept in both beds, but she had a fling for my son so he was always the favorite, if she heard him go to the toilet and did not wait for her, she sat outside the door and scratched it until he let her in .. Haha .. She later on moved to my mom due to circumstances and died last summer.

Cats are very easy to take care. they only come to you when they are hungry or if they want to cuddle. Highly independent and most of the time sleeps in various positions at different spots.

I have a shorthair too. They are only attached with one person. My cat only comes to me and gets stressed if am not around for more than 1 or 2 days.
Yes the females are not very friendly. Out of all my cats only the male like to cuddle or headbutt more

I think that is by the individual cat, our female loved people, cuddles on her stomach and headbutting, no cat is the same.
