What Do You Think About Backlinks Position?

Simple question; Do you think the position of a backlink on page(inside the content) matters?

To elaborate further, does a link placed at the top(first few paragraphs) of the content have more link juice/power compared to one placed in the middle of the content or at the bottom(last paragraph)?

Yes definitely. I think the higher up the content, the more likely it is to be clicked and the more weight you are giving it as the writer. I’m sure the search engines take a similar view.

Yes, It is an established fact that links coming from within the content are most valued. The links coming from footer or bottom part of the page carry less value and google has clarified in years ago.

With this, If you are getting a backlink from any website from footer it will be less valuable than the one you got from the content itself with keyword rich text anchor placed towards the top of the page.

Not that I know of. Just personal experience but I don’t have any concrete case studies.

If you place link in first few words like in 100-150 words, then that link will show in excerpt in home page and category archive, which have more weight and pass better link juice.

Yes you are right. So, to answer your question the link placed at the top of the content will have more value as compared to the link placed towards the bottom of the content.
