Group or Page?

Group is not for long term advertising... When group reaches 5k members you are not able to send them private message. At the page you are updating the status but there is no limit how many members you can have in fan. So I would vote for page

have both. its what i do. create a group and fan page on same topic. link the 2 together. ie fan page link on group description etc. and group link on fan page. that way you have 2 opportunities to earn from same subject

Wouldn't that potentially divide your potential fanbase? I'm sure there would be people who join both, but I have a feeling a lot of people would only join one and not the other.

Wouldn't be a problem once the groups/pages are big enough, but you need numbers when you're first starting out.

Very easily, I made around 9k from one group over the span of 3 months, started monetizing it when it had 160k and it grew to 480k before i lost it. i also made big bucks with a mafia wars group that had over 300k members, started advertising and made about 3k from that group in 3 days.

Just put up some ads, use the wall, there are so many ways to get your message out to people with groups and they are so much less hassle!!

no why have one way to monetise when you could have 2? my group has over 250k members. the fan page has over 155k fans. same topics and im banking from them. thats why i say to do both
