Ranking a Medium article?

Just wondering if anyone has ever tried to rank a Medium article and what was your experience? Would link building for a Medium page be effective or a waste of time?

The keywords will be low competition keywords.

It was very widely used and effective tactic.

Looks like search engines hammered on it not so long ago though.

I don't think it works that well anymore. Not to mention moderating got harder.

For what it's worth, it's a free link, so go for it. It can't really hurt your site

Me too but usually not for long.

I suggest you track them and see how they are doing in a month.

It can be done.

Sure, it’ll be more work than it was previously. It’ll be more frustrating than just buying a domain & being in total control. Definitely doable though.

Medium still works well as a parasite, presuming it's well written.

In terms of building links to it to boost its ranking, some sidebar Reddit links work well, as do GSA blasts.

For parasite I always use SAPE
If still need push I used PBN

Article from Web2.0 such blogspot, medium, you rarely see them anymore.

I doubt if it still working.

They still rank but Google pushed them to pages 3 and beyond after Nov spam update. You can use it if it's not necessary to rank within first page. It's better to grow a site if you have time and resources.
