Hi, so I started a blog around 8 months ago.

After 8 months this site is going great, average of 20 minutes of time spent on site, around 5k users daily. Only problem is I'm not getting much profit, but this is not the problem I'm going to ask you for help here.

The thing is. When I started out, I've pick for my domain name, the name of an already established adult site. Just with different tld. The brand keyword makes for this brand keyword generate around 1M/month searches, that's a lot. (BTW Don't worry, the main domain is a site like mine that stole their content, it's not like they are a legal entity that would go after me legally.)

I basically mirrored their domain name and I am ranking #2 for the brand keywords.

Despite the good position #2, I'm getting around a shitty 0.4% CTR for the brand keywords. All 1M people that search for the brand keywords visits the #1 site, as it should be.

BUT now, an opportunity popped up for me and I want to take it. Please give me advice.

Basically, the site ranking #1 is using a local ccTLD for their domain name.

It is national news that the national registry that manages this ccTLD has recently begun a campaign against the use of bogus data as domain name holders. Apparently, from the message the owner of that site left on social media a couple of days ago, he had entered bogus data and therefore will most likely lose the domain in the next 2-3 weeks.

To try to limit the damage, he set up a 301 redirect to a new domain with a TLD, without any prior history. When the domain is suspended, however, it will lose the 301 and all the accumulated seo.

I would like to use this opportunity to get to the No. 1 position vacated by him.

The problem is the CTR on google and the user engament of people. In two days, his new domain is already ranking better than me for brand keyword, because of the 301.

Even if he loses the main domain in a few weeks with all its seo and 301 bonuses, if the new domain is already indexed first in place of his current domain, my fear is that he will still get the majority of CTR and then there will be no room for me to come first.

In light of this situation, how can I make the most of this opportunity? PLEASE HELP!!! Blackhat or whitehat tips are all accepted

Your CTR is normal when trying to rank for someone else's brand, but there are ways you can improve your Meta Title and Description to improve performance. Can you give any indication (censored) of what the #1 site is using and what you're using?
