I was like most people and focus on linking but after coming across Incomeschool i got curious.

Can people compare lets say a 5 year old domain from their websites and a regular blackhat linking with similar domain age and genre? Who ranks higher, and who has the best traffic

Looking into their ranking on google they can rank 1 of tons of keywords with basically 0 backlinks. This goes against 90% of what seo pros say but it works?

Incomeschool.com = Whitehat blogging mainly

Did you check the websites incomeschool promotes as their big winners? Most of them will be around 10k-30k traffic with huge amounts of content and will only focus on keywords with little to no competition. As soon as competition gets into their niche, they lose rankings. Never underestimate the power of proper link building. SEO is more than just writing like a writing machine, keep this in mind.

Yeah you can rank long tails with no search volume and no search intent without backlinks, but as these bring no benefit to your site it's pointless.

You try ranking 'best 3d tv' without backlinks.

I would agree to that. I would like to add another thing. The ranking of keywords especially long tails also depends on the website strength and their brand strength.
For example, if search engine journal publish any new post targeting long tail keywords, they are most likely get on the top pages with no difficulty.
Keep that in mind too.

And sure you can get to the top with no backlinks but staying there for certain period time will like falling water drops.

There is a "guru current" which calls for this kind of stupidity.

We all know that links are hyper-costly, and this is why they are selling this selling proposition: you freemium dude, just write content and go wild with your ranks

The truth, uncovered, is that those guru f*kers are using hidden huge PBNs to rank their examples so they could be kind of legit to claim this fact: they rank without links (which is false)

This is the reality:

No backlinks = No authority
No authority = No ranking

White hat is an different thing and black hat is diff , just try blackhat as you wont regret !

That's the thing. You need to build a moat around your site. SEO is just too competitive to be complacent. And I am sorry to break it to you but those selling the "passive income" dream of writing a lot of content and then doing nothing, are full of crap.

You need backlinks to stay ranked for even 0 competition keywords.
Think again before sidelining the backlinks, it isn't viable.

Hey,
I also joined income school last year. You should follow each advice of Income School except link building.

Build your site following their guidelines and then build high quality links. Nothing else!

I'm not very knowledgeable about SEO but I bught comment backlink bot program. I made my site in 1st page 1st row for XXXXXX keyword from 6. page

Few months ago I noticed google.com RANKING (on a local SERP eg in google.es) on third page for a gambling brand. Let that sink - Google.com is ranking at 20 something position for entirely different brand. What happened is someone from the high ranking affiliate sites fucked up and put external link to google.com with anchor this gambling brand. So thanks to SINGLE link, relevant, strong link, google.com (page without content basically, with ONE MEGABAZILLION LINKS), ranked for entirely irrelevant search query for uber hard keyword. This is what proper links with proper anchor text do.

Income School just picked a niche of housewives and those who think backlinks are unethical.

Bottom line, yes, you can write 200-300 articles, burn your eyes out and make $500-1000 a month, but as soon as you quit writing new articles your income will drop because competitors, knowing that your site is not using backlinks will squeeze your site from the top.

I've seen different online businesses spending $30-40k per month on backlinks. I'm sure they are not that dumb to spend those amounts if backlinks are not worth it!

It depends on your keywords. If they’re easy, you don’t need links. If they’re competitive, you need links.

The Income School method definitely works. But it works if you follow their process for keyword research.

If you try to rank for mortgage keywords without links, it’s going to be really hard. Trust me, I’m trying.

Yes. Backlinks are required. Sometimes to rank for your own brand name you will need backlinks.
