Expired Forum Domains any use without rebuilding them?

I found a few expired forum domains that are no longer indexed on Google but show nice backlink profiles on Ahrefs.
Would the only way to take advantage of such backlinks to rebuild the whole forums/linked pages again? Obviously this is would be an impossible task.
I doubt they get any traffic from the linking pages either.

You can simply redirect the pages with decent links to homepage/ few internal pages. Anyway those forum domains are kinda shit exactly because the links are usually scattered to many, many pages.

So would it be enough just to redirect those URL's that have baclinks with Cloudflare for example?
As someone with experience, would you say it's still worth the hassle and/or $10 for the domains?
Or would it be time better spent elsewhere..

htaccess 301 redirect -> as for example there is links from US Today, BBC etc to forum thread forum.com/why-vegas-is-bad-tourism-destination-comment-3434343/
You redirect this page (and all similar pages) to new page forum.com /vegas/ or to the homepage of your PBN (or whatever site you are creating). If they are free for registrar, and there are some decent links $10 isn't the worse deal so go for it.

Yes. Although there are not many good domains free to register. At best you can hope for something clean with 1-2 decent links and 15-20 ref domains total.
