where can I learn how to create a professional website?

Hi friends! I have a project in mind and it will require a professional website.. almost like a marketplace type with a lot of filters capabilities, reviews, etc .. it's not going to be a blog type, the thing is that I don't know how to do it and I don't want to outsource it because among other things I want to learn how to do it myself. I'm looking for a recommendation of a "how to create" course, it doesn't matter if it's paid or free I just want the best of the best. I want to use wordpress btw.

If I have to pay to learn how to do it, I want to pay for the best
help me please :)

Grab some courses on udemy (or anywhere) for html, css, JavaScript, php, and sql. That will get you going in the right direction for developing with wordpress.
 
You can get going with a decent bootstrap for cheap from theme forest maybe. That will give you an outline of something to work with if there is anything that might be what you are after.
 
Go on YouTube and learn WordPress and Gutenberg, Then go to CrocoBlock channel and learn their plugin JetEngine. With this you will be able to make most kind of sites. Also find some tutorials on GeneratePress, and your all set .. =)

This is the best method for me. It is how workshop or tutorial works anyway. Courses give you something to work on with as you follow and learn.
 
Thank you guys! I think I will use Elementor, I just saw a youtube tutorial and that plugin is awesome! feels like you're painting your website lol

Are there any drawbacks using Elementor?

Learn Gutenberg instead, it is the future of WordPress.

It is slower then Gutenberg, you want speed in your website.

Is Elementor really that slow?
 
Bubble.io is also great for such kinds of sites. Easy to pick up too
 
You can learn this from courses on udemy. Udemy has promotions running from time to time when you can grab these courses for cheap.
 
To develop and grow a marketplace, huge investment is needed. You will have to spend a lot of money to make people come on your platform and try it.
 
You can see tutorials on YouTube. YouTube has the advantage that it is completely free to use.

This is one topic YouTube is filled with an in-depth tutorial that will show you step by step how to build any type of website from scratch.

I´ve seen tutorials over 4+ hours long for WordPress.

Depending on the complexity and functionalities you want on the site, you might also want to check tutorials on how to build websites on other platforms outside WordPress like Webflow.

If you want to build your site on WordPress, it shouldn´t be hard for you to find great tutorials on YouTube.

There are a few channels I can recommend that should keep you busy for a week. Afterward, you should be able to design and build ANY website from scratch.
 
The Elementor route is definitely the quickest way to have a modern looking website. The back end might be a mess due to all the unused plugins but for people with minimum knowledge of what they are doing like me, it's the quickest way to publish with style.

As your concern about the speed, well WordPress itself is argued as a bad option for a highly visited e-commerce website. So I would not worry about that for now as the other options are much harder to master and do not give that easy aesthetic options.

I see... and what do you think about Oxygen? I was watching some videos and it feels more professional, plus they say it's faster than Elementor and you can still code a bit html, css, js, php..
it has Gutenberg integration too.

Oxygen is very fast, but it needs a bit of longer learning for the average new user. I shared the latest untouched/original version here if you wan´t to try it out first.

Thank you! yeah I've been watching youtube videos.. now I have a better idea of what to do, there are tons of Elementor tutorials with referral links tho lol , for a moment I was thinking of using it but now I think I will prefer using Oxygen idk.
I want to stick to wordpress for now, please what are those channels you said you can recommend me ;)
