It's frustrating, the ones that seem to have survived and not sure if this applies to you, but are the ones as I mentioned with large link profiles 50-60DR. The SERPs seem less relevant and focused on quality content.

Disagree - think they target specific sites more so than the whole web, but yes I also agree what they tend to do is go in too hard with the update initially and roll some or all of it back in the following weeks / months, or correct it with a further update.

This is one website that I have been working "part time". I have made a case study about this website on BHW . Was not able to update it lately because I have been busy but seems like the Core Update hasn't affected the site so far. The traffic is stable but earnings got a 50% decrease on May.

June seems on the right track so far.

Yes, some people on BHW admitted that they were affected by this update and their affiliate websites were hit.

Could you tell a little bit more about the content on your websites? What's similar among all of them? Also:

1. How many articles have you published?
2. What's their length?
3. What's the proportion between articles with affiliate links and educational/informational articles without links?
4. How deep are the reviews? Not in terms of length, but how many H2, how many different aspect the reviews genuinely cover, do they compare with other products, do they have tables, summaries of content, etc.?

From my side, pretty much all affiliate websites improved their positions. Some more than others and the above questions are my hunch as to what might be the most important.

My site died today 0 traffic. It would be better if they just gave me a manual penalty so I know what to fix.

This update is crazy. How do they just completely kill a site and remove all KWs and rankings. Has anyone seen anyone ask about this on twitter to John Mu or on any of the Google forums?

I have just 1 keyword position n1 and wverything else is removed! Right now from 40 keywords in top 100 i have just 1... lol

1. How many articles have you published?
2. What's their length?

From my side, pretty much all affiliate websites improved their positions. Some more than others and the above questions are my hunch as to what might be the most important.

1. My main website has about 350+ articles. The other websites, with the exception of one, are less, maybe about 30-40 each.
2. They vary, but I would say an average of 2.5k-3k in length.
3. There mostly affiliate linked pages, 70/30 split perhaps, at a guess.
4. A lot of the articles that have done well for me are "best product" type, not individual reviews. I tend to format it like, buying guide (multiple H2's about the product), review(s) of around 5 products, and a summary around which we would recommend. This changes from one article to another where I would put the buying guide, before/after the products.

Man that sucks , mine's almost there. It's gone from 400-500 daily visits to 30-40, no conversions...

Yeah this core update is definately targetted towards affiliate websites and listicle type articles with kws like Best Top etc. I have seen one website of my friend who receives over 3k Users per day solely through info content and his website was not hit. I have seen it with my eyes. Also my client website which is a sass product with blog has not seen any drop in traffic. Even one of my website which is relatively new with few content ( only info) has seen increase in traffic.

In Short my whole analysis points to this "affiliate type websites or websites with keywords like Best restaurants in .... , Best Gym in .... , Best shoes are hit."

So far no traffic is recovered .
