Site flipping section in "making money"

Hi,

As BHW is moving back in the right direction with the latest changes, I think it would be good to get some more "legit" (apologies if that offends anyone) sections for making money.

One of my personal areas of expertise and something which I believe is accessible to both noobs and experienced members is site flipping. It's a great way to build up technical skills and experience in all areas of marketing and as such think it would be a perfect addition to the making money section as from what I understand there is no relevant sub forum currently.

Also if you needed someone to moderate it, I'm your man

Would love to hear your thoughts.

Im a huge fan of site flipping - it was my main source of income back in my beginnings!

Its almost like an internship in IM where you are tested on various topics...You have to do a little SEO, make the site profitable, drive traffic, learn web design basics...Site flipping is WAY more competitive than it was...say....3 years ago - but its still extremely viable and do-able...

Would be a great addition IMO

Yeah site-flipping is actually pretty easy.

I don't like short term stuff though. I like to build up sites and then down the road flip em once they are big.

Short term: perfect for noobs/quick cash

Longer term (buying site, improving it, flipping it): more advanced, higher risk, higher reward

It's also overlooked often and would be a perfect compliment to many of the methods here. If you have a method that is making you money through a site/landing page you can flip the site when you're bored with method for a nice multiple of income.

Hence why it's a perfect way for anyone to make some cash

wow,,just look at all the above reply's..all are interested,,there are already too many ppl into this..and who says its not saturated? creating a new section will saturate it more..forgot ewhoring? every one will create a site and flipp it for quick cash..ending it up in die die situation for all,,n espacially for those who are already in there..personally i would love to see site flipping section but i m skeptical @ it..
although you guys can create this section in vip zone and keep it safe there..

That's not entirely what I mean by "site flipping". I would also include selling sites in general as there are a lot of questions around the forum that go in loads of different sections - so a devoted section would be helpful.

And like I said, it targets different people - the more experienced members wouldn't see much point in $100 a day or so building and flipping new sites, the real money is buying sites for $5k and selling for $10k a week later... whereas for noobs turning $10 into $100 in a day could be very good

So tons of options, but I understand your concerns regarding saturation... although like most of the CL guys said, as the going gets tough, the noobs drop out and the rest bank more

I'll have to respectfully disagree with your post for the most part. I don't think site flipping will become saturated because quite frankly, it's too much work and risk for most people. Not only does it take a little money to get started, but you also have to have at least some experience in coding, designing and traffic/revenue generation. If people already know how to do that, then they probably don't need to go into site flipping in the first place. On top of that, you still have a chance of losing money or the site not even selling.

The days of building a .info WP blog with PLR articles, slapping an adsense block on it and then selling it for $100 are pretty much over, to which I say good riddance. The people who make the real money on site flipping now are the people like me who love the process of actually building a site. If you don't love it, then you're probably not going to spend weeks and even months working on something that you could lose money on.

I completely agree that there's need for a separate section on Flipping, as well as with the fact that even though having this would get some of the "methods" saturated more quickly, I believe that I myself and all the rest who actually have something between their ears are way past having to worry about saturation. Besides, we'll keep the best stuff in Jr. VIP regardless if there's a section on flipping or not

I need to give it a little bit of thought but would probably also be up for moderating the section in case it gets opened. meathead1234 and I have met each other in several threads regarding flipping and it seems that (at least for now) we're the only two guys on this forums who are full-time flippers and are also keen on discussing the tactics / sharing advice. (There's definitely a lot more successful flippers around here, we just need to get them to open their mouths and a dedicated section would be a nice start )

EDIT: I just happened to take a look at the main "Making Money" sections and there's currently 8 threads related to site flipping on the first page so clearly there's a lot of public demand.

That's one of the main reasons I suggested it - seems to be a lot of threads that pop up asking for help and advice buying or selling sites but not in any specific section.

I'm sure there are a fair few people around who flip full-time (it probably accounts for around 75% of my income) so there would definitely be some good knowledge and experience members could bring to the table.

Site flipping is based on the selling and buying of legit websites that are usually verified through Google Analytics (industry standard). I don't see how this could get "saturated". You will not make a dime if you don't put out quality websites in the first place. It's a clean, secure market. If you cannot adapt then fall off the boat. That's life. No offence but according to your grammar I must bet you aren't killing in this market yourself.
