In your experience after making a decent link (no red flags) to your site do you see the desired result. I have made a link and currently it has moved the domain 8 position backward. I don't want to change anything as I have read it may trigger the rank modifying patent more intensely. Just asking how many days or weeks is enough as per your experience.

A single link is not decisive in your ranking. The rankings keep fluctuating frequently anyway. I've noticed +/- 15-50 positions in a span of few days without any major link building.
Regarding your question, I don't think there's any fixed timeline when it comes to google.

The time vary - from literally next day, to never. However even if the site is super clean, decent and everything, the anchor text also plays major role - you may overoptimize your anchor profile and trigger algorithm penalty with otherwise good link.

it could be the random documents algorithm playing with you. it takes 21 days on avg for this to settle.

or it could be this shitty dancing from the update this week.

Depending on the quality of links, it could take a couple of weeks or more
One link isn't going to push the needle
Neither should you focus on blasting links at an alarming rate

Those who noticed positive/negative effect of this recent dance what date was it?

May 16th or 25th?

I made link on 25th.

One link will mean nothing if you have done just 1.
Google Dance can sort itself in a week or 2 usually, depending on how aggressive your link building has been.

Google also rolled out a new update, these often take 2-3 weeks to kick in and things settle down.
