Hello!

I am new to dropshipping but don't know where to start. I'm aware of shopify and oberlo, but don't know what's right to use and who to go to for suppliers.

I have a few hundred dollars and up to a few grand to spend on this project.

Driving traffic to your store is what makes dropshipping expensive.

I suggest you start dropshipping on platforms such as etsy in parallel.

suppliers - you have to chat with suppliers and see if they can dropship. trial and error.

If you don't know where to start I definitely recommend you check out youtube videos and learn more about how everything works and the basic dos and don't of everything before spending your hard earned money. " The Ecom King" on youtube does yearly 9 hour free courses as well as plenty of new videos outlining everything. That or if you have short attention span, older videos from biaheza are also useful (his course is also available for download here on bhw).

Thanks for the tip! I'll take a look at etsy and suppliers.

Thanks for the reply, I'll take a look at their guides.

If I had the budget for better ads and traffic, would TikTok and such be good for that?

If you've got a good product & video TikTok is currently the cheapest and can provide the best results.

Got it, and would you recommend multiple products or just one. Or does it depend?

Orbelo has shut down. Try to dropship Custom Designed T-Shirt, mugs, wallpaper, drawings, etc. The setup is much simpler and cost lesser money. You can list them easily on Amazon/ Etsy and be expose to ready potential buying customers without spending big bucks on advertising cost.

There is no right or wrong answer to this question.

I have 1 product stores as well as stores with 600+ products. So for myself personally, if I'm selling a product and trying to create a brand around it then I stick with 1 product stores with maybe 2-3 upsells for it. But for the high product stores is more for print on demand stuff.

Try to stay away from "general" stores with a bunch of products that don't make sense together. If you're not doing print on demand but want to try multiple products, stick to a single niche to be the go to for say fishing products as an example. Rather than a site that has fishing products but also beauty and tech products, as it confuses the visitor and ruins your conversion rates.

There are plenty of resources out there to help you get started it's important to do your research to find the right supplier for you
the key is to find a niche market and build a store around it once you have a store up and running be sure to focus on marketing
and promoting it to drive traffic and sales

To find the winning products for drop shipping you can also try a spy tool for ads that allows you to see which products are doing the best. This way you can also find the best ads and who to target. Try to use tools that scrape data directly instead of using add ons.

Good products and Marketing is actual what makes dropshipping successful but if you don't have the budget for marketing, you can sell on ebay or etsy using stealth accounts no need for high marketing budget.
Another option is to target less competitive europe countries with the shopify and oberlo option but note oberlo is shutting down this month so you can use other alternative on shopify like vendSmarter.

You should definitely start on FB or Tiktok and try to go for products that are already succesful. Get some videos from youtube or from the product seller and apply your own twist on them and make your store look good , Focus on checkout optimization and make sure it has good positive reviews. All the best!

So stick with one niche and choose between single product or multiple product? It sort of depends on the niche then right?

Where might I be able to find stealth accounts? Here on BHW? And what exactly is the purpose for stealth accounts?

Sounds good, thanks for the tip! I’ve definitely been looking into tiktok ads and promotions!

Advertising is the most important expense for Shopify.
You can source products from sites like cjdropshipping.
