Related to Google Search Console & Indexing?

I am working on-site for the last 2 years and it is showing some good traffic. But recently I am facing some issues and I don't know anything about it.

I published an article 5 days ago. After indexing, it started showing in SERP and after 6 to 7 hours I was in the No.1 Position. I maintained that position for two days but now I am seeing that the article is not in the Top 100. This is happening with most of the URLs. I publish new content it starts ranking in the top 5 but after 2 3 days, it is gone.

Why this is happening? Anyone, please help.

If your blog is very niche and you are targeting very long tail keywords that don't have a huge competition, this is very common if your site has a good rep in Google's eye

Thing is that Google puts you in top rank and then checks your CTR. If your CTR is killer then you ill stay on top. If not it will drop you and keep testing for other keywords you may not even notice until he gets a complete vision of your site. Then your site may show up maybe in position 15 or 23 for that given keyword and will start building up if you make some optimizations or simply if the CTR of the first positions start to dip.

In some long tail keywords intent is very difficult to satisfy and Google is completely clueless on what to do. So the "dance" sometimes is extremely hard

For example, I have one forum site ranking for lets say "beetle" and "forum" called beetleforum.com. There are no other "beetle forums" online. and suddenly a page pops in first position which refers within the content to forums and beetles. Whats going on? New article Google is testing if that page responds well and forcefully puts your page in second or even 3rd position (I went sometimes to 5 or 6 th position) and then after 1 week or so, I go back to first position and page that ranked first for a week dissapears, to come back to a solid position 4th, 1 month later.

This is how things work. Obsessing with ranks is by far the worst illness a SEO professional can have. Obsess with traffic. Is your site (or your network of sites) increasing or decreasing in traffic. Are you building new content regularly? Maybe 3 of your sites have decreased 1K visits last month but 3 news have improved 1.5K visits. That is real improvement. But focusing too much in one single page is losing the track on SEO. As I say to my clients: if you want to focus too much in one keywords, you are going to invest much more of what you could achieve through other digital marketing mechanisms. SEO can be a bottomless pit

I totally agree with you. I am actually focusing on building content only but most of the urls pushed up on page one suddenly but after sometime they disappear that's why I am asking why this is happening with almost every content?

Does your article have good traffic flow and user engagement?

If the other article has better user engagement, those will be ranked.

This means even the old mighty and powerful Google is not sure what are the best result that will fulfill the user´s search intent so it's trying to "mix things up" and monitor metrics like CTR (although some SEO deny this) to see what to award with the best organic position.

There is a reason behind this: You have written good content but your website is not worthy that why it is not ranking now as user navigates from one page to another and finds not worthy content.
