What option would be better for article marketing & creating backlinks (money isn't an issue) ?

1) web 2.0

- write an article about my website
- put in on a web 2.0 page
- linkback to my website

2) wordpress blog

- write an article about my website
- create a wordpress blog with a keyword related url
- linkback to my website

3) article website

- write an article about my website
- publish it on a local article directory
- linkback to my website

I know I'm a newbie on BHW, but I am not a newbie when it comes to internet marketing.

First, if money/time is not an issue, you should def look into doing all three. More SEO efforts = better chances of ranking! duh!

Now to determine, which one is better.

Option 1 and 3 can be quite similar depending on the aritlce directory or web 2.0 property you submit to. For example, submitting to the ezine articles directory would be better than submitting to a generic web 2.0 property. But if, you we to submit to hubpages or squidoo (well known high PR web 2.0 properties), it would be a little more effective because they have a more consistent/larger amount of traffic running through.

However, from my experience I have seen ezine articles do amazing things when it comes to link building! In addition, typically, to get a more powerful effect you want to include a mass submission of around 50-unlimited submits per article (spun or not).

Blogs are great because it provides google and other first tier search engines fresh content everyday (depending on how much you update it). But in your case, you are just creating one and then submitting your article/blog. So I would say it wouldnt have an effect on your seo efforts right away due to how new your blog would be.

In a nutshell...my order out of the three projects is:
1) web 2.0 (if submitted to high pr properties)
3) article website
2) wordpress blog

Okay, because you have asked for a comparison let;s talk about what'll work best. Maybe you are trying to prioritize your time and effort.

Here's how I'll rank them-

1. Article Submission- But only to top 1-5 directories. Needless to say, Ezinearticles must be in the list. Reason I rate this above writing your own Wordpress blog is because top directories will definitely help you syndicate your content and link faster and farther than your new blog. So if you have limited time submit the articles first.
2. Wordpress Blog- Blogging has to be a longish term strategy. And an important one. Not only you'll build an array of relevant links over time, you'll create authority and stability in your niche. Not to forget a blog provides what none of the other two options provide you- you have complete control over your blog.
3. Web 2.0- Most linkwheelers will swear by web 2.0 properties. But I go by the basics and for me the above two will ALWAYS come above web 2.0 simply because you can publish any s*** in a web 2.0 site but Ezinearticle will make you sweat if you tried that approach with them.

I have put my honest perspective. Hope you see where it's coming from.

I would say the top 4 article directories. I used to spend hours writing lame article that were just pumped out and got only 2 backlinks out of the deal.. but now I've concentrated on making "viral" articles that I think people will want to link to.. and 2 backlinks turn into 20 when someone else wants to link to them.

It's really the difference between the men and the boys of seo in my years of seo.

But the other guys are right about mixing them all together. What sux tho is that crosslinking your sites cannot be done if you have adsense on them.. and if you have a blog devoted to "backlilnking" its kind of pointless to have nothing on.. so my way around that is by having two different adsense accounts then crosslink the sites..

BAMMMM! now you have a huge link wheel of tons of different sites. If you stick to this niche you should dominate seo completely cause your taking out the work of backlinking cause you can do it yourself..

You are asking a question that cannot be answered unless you have the niche. WHAT??? If the niche is very popular, then you do a combo of all three. If the niche is not that popular, then you would choose what works IN THAT NICHE.

Not to mention web 2.0 doesn't work like it used too work....

In my point of view you should do more focus on 3rd step by marketing your article on different article marketing sites. If you need more backlinks exchange article with your theme based websites.

I run http://www.seolinkbuildingpackages.com and while technically I should not be promoting I need to address this as I might be a little credible. I say that because, my post counst is rather low here at BHW... I am not new to IM and when it comes to backlinks and the importantance and PR and keywords and everything else GOOGLE loves to see, I just might know what I am talking about. I showed above because, I make sure if you are looking to rank an article for instane that hit P.1 from something you submitted on EZA, now what do you need to do????

You need to backlink it. All the BS that is running around that you should ONLY use HIGH PR sites is wrong.... I call BULL$h1t to this!!! If anyone would like to believe they can make proper sense of HIGH PR ONLY--- Bring it on.

I know because of a few reasons. I PERSONALLY have tested high pr and no pr on articles that ranked. I tested it on sites. I tested it and then called Google and they laughed at me! Why? Because they told me and will tell YOU as well. If natural link building is taking effect, it comes from ALL kinds of sites. Some are high PR and some are no pr... Some have a lot of backlinks themselves and some have a few... Mainly it is how many links are coming to the same a=or similar content. Does that site have the same or similar content.

I could go on for another 10 pages! I can tell you clearly the right and wrong way. I can tell you how many sites is not enough and how many is to much in a month. Oh yeah, that is based upon a percentage of several factors...

If you want to learn, you need to look at who is trying to teach you and see if they have done well. I have and I listen to people all the time that coach others and are respected for explaining it all and not leaving out a few key factors!

You can always get an answer for your question if you ask one person. If you ask 100 you will get 101 answers...
