Hi,

I almost totally gave up this project some months ago because the French regulator ask to google France to censor it (nothing happened yet) and had bigger projects.

Facts :

- People coming to play free games (50%) + for blog articles (50%).
- Wanted to do hard work on the reviews but French regulator hit me before

- Had very few subscriptions via my links but they not playing, so earning = 0
- Tried to put poker offers instead during 2 months, but still nothing :)
- Added much more ads on my top pages, same.

Solutions :
I'm thinking about some options:

  • Propose it for niche edit
  • Use it at 301 redirection for another project
  • Change casino offers to poker (no legal problem), then add poker articles and reviews. I'm a pro poker player, so the content will be very solid but it will take 150/200 hours and this specific market seems totally dead...

What will you do? Do you see other solutions?

I dont think you're getting enough clicks to generate any sales

with 10k clicks in casino niche I don't think its surprising you haven't made a sale

have you tried to buy popunder ads to generate traffic?

I know, I have to do perfect reviews and improve my content but I'm already in the sights of French regulator...

have you tried to buy popunder ads to generate traffic?

No, I'm much more interested by pure SEO than marketing. But I could try, at least for the experience. What's the best networks to do that?

I know this might sound rough, but how hard are you selling the poker offers?

Please understand that when people go to your blog for articles, you are given a unique opportunity to condition them or appeal to their interests.

The problem is a lot of people target keywords just for pulling traffic from Google and not much else.

You can get a lot of people to your site, but if you don't know how to handle that traffic, nothing is going to happen.

You have to sell with each and every piece of content on your site.

You have to walk the prospect through the know, like, trust, and buy process.

Put simply, nobody is going to buy anything from you if they don't trust you.

How do you get them to trust you?

They must first like you.

How do you get them to like you?

Let them know that you know what you are talking about.

In other words, inform them.

That's how you play the game.

And each step has its own messaging.

It has its own strategy.

Focus on selling or pushing the prospect down the sales journey so you can convert them.

Sadly, a lot of online publishers think that they just need to blast a lot of traffic to their pages, and then somehow, someway by some sort of magic, people will buy.

You have to take matters into your own hands.

Sure, some people randomly convert, but that's not gonna help you.

In many cases, you're not getting enough traffic.

So treat every single visitor as a unique opportunity to generate a sale.

You have to ask yourself: "What kind of information do I need to get in front of their eyeballs so eventually they will know that I know what I'm talking about and that they like me and that they trust me?"

And the key here is to present your information in such a way that they would want to join your mailing list.

Once you have them on your list, then you get many bites at the apple to convert them, not just into one-time buyers, but you can get sales from your lists many times over throughout the life cycle of each subscriber.

Thanks for you very detailled answer.

I tried to do this on my top page: adapt the text (one casino is related to the topic of the article), special banner, free sample to show them how to play slots (related to the topic also). But no results.

The problem imo, they coming for very informationnal articles (hard to convert with this volume) + free games (and don't wan't to spend money - they have banner on the game and below to play for real money... but nothing also).

Hi! I think it could be beneficial to look into getting some backlinks. You most likely need more traffic than that to make sales so if you can get some backlinks in the gambling niche from websites with lots of traffic, it could carry over to your site and potentially bring in new sales. On top of that, these backlinks can help you rank higher in SERPs, so you could get more organic traffic that way also.

I'm a bit stuck because of that :

My site can be down at any moment so probably not a good idea to buy/work on backlinks.

Change to poker is a reasonable decision.

Probably the best compromise but it's 1 full month of work knowing these informations:
- agent with 200 affiliates told me that the market is dying
- CPA offers are decreasing: for example it was 45€ CPA for pokerstars, now it's 0 :)

Hi @nusb0 , very interesting issues you have here, but as you already mentioned then France is a pain in the a...
I am curious to know what the french regulators have done or are threatening to do, as there are many casino affiliate sites in France that have been live for years? or is your domain .fr?

Do you promote the right casinos or brands that people know are bad? do you promote casinos that accept French traffic (not many do). Do the offers you promote on free to play pages, include free spins?

They are much more proactive since last year. Ask to google to censor the website on google.fr or go to court for bigger case like top casinos and censor from ISP if I remember well.

But it's totally random, they are not very effective... Like they censored my site who's genereting nothing when big casinos are still alive...

Yes, only the best ones (less than 10) who are accepting French people. And yes, I'm talking about free spins (my main argument) and bonus on the free to play pages.
