I published one story as a test but noticed nothing at all.

You’ll need good Amp, plus perfect schema and need to do it on scale before you see any results. I doubt one or two will bring any traffic

Yeah, it's like you use an image then add a title and stuff.
As I understand they can be similar to your signature (in different size).

No, it works just like Instagram stories they're slides which could be of pictures, texts or combination of both. You could also use videos and/or gifs as your story. Unlike IG stories, there's a minimum number of slides per story and if I remember correctly it is a minimum of 5 slides.
No, I haven't done enough tests to come to a conclusion, it needs more testing to understand well.
It's probably another gold mine because every platform is moving towards the stories and tiktok stylee content, so it'd be here to stay for a while.
But I don't know how Google chooses what story content gets to be seen.

Is there anywhere this was stated as a requirement?
Because I created and published mine manually and it was published fine. Also, it isn't hosted on your site directly, you'd be required to set up a subdomain which is where your stories would be accessible from.
My point is, I don't think there's any need for amp.
By the way, how many stories do you think would yield results? Done any tests?

Thank you for the input... need to have a look at insta stories, haven't used IG for some time.
Is it one slide per topic or I make many slides for the same topic?

Instagram stories can be just one slide, while Google's web stories is 5 slides per story topic. Something along that line.
Furthermore, you don't necessarily need to have amp on your site. The stories themselves need to be valid amp not your site. Remember the stories are not hosted on your website but on the same servers as amp content.
Because I was having issues setting up the plugin on WordPress and getting it to work, I used the platform makestories.io to create the test story.
You could try them out.

wordpress has such a free stories plugin. So I sharing these stories to google or FB, Twitter, Insta...?
But my wordpress library will get bloated with these stories and make my site loading more slow ?
Godaddy has such a Marketing tool can you buy that without have domain and webhosting on them (also separate) ?
Or using good cheap text to video , or text to image ai tools, or these social posts ai.
I try next week a data cloud, there I will host my images, then embedd it to my wp site, with that I keep my wp library clean.

I don't know but i see many Indians are making thousands from web story traffic.
But the problem is that it is not sustainable, it dies in a month or two

Yes, they do bring traffic. I have been seeing them on my recommendation page on Chrome.
