New Kid on the block, I have read though most of the threads here.

I have a question, hopeful that someone with more knowledge then me
can answer.

I would like too know is it possible too rank for an long tail kw.
Without back links and all the other suggested things too do?

I mean if someone put up an site lets say (xbox360-products.com)
will Google pick it up?

Our is this just a lose cause on my part. I have read that its possible
but that was on a sales letter.

Any input would be greatly helpful.:D

If people could rank for keywords without backlinks.... Do you think anyone would bother with backlinks?

If you pick a keyword that has extremely low competition and almost no activity around it, maybe if you're lucky.

I wouldn't count on it though.

yea i got the #1 spot for a keyword that gets 12 searches per month with no backlinks whatsoever lolol

Hey,thanks guys your input has shard some light on the problem.

Yes, typically any keyword worth ranking for (even longtail) you are going to need some backlinks. Sometimes its only a few though. Sometimes you can rank high with just a digg and an article. Depends on the competition.

If you find a keyword that gets a lot of searches and is profitable and you didnt need any backlinks to rank for, keep it secret. Never come back to this forum, that is called a diamond in the rough.

Ranking for long tail keywords is easy, you can do it with a blogspot also instead of a domain name.I am not sure how long it will stay on the first page though, without any links to it.My advice for you to get the traffic for any long tail keywords is to find some big page rank communities, put up a post/page optimized for your keyword, and you will be on the first page in less than 24 hours, sometimes even less, depending on the community you use.I would go for "KickApps" powered ones, or for some old drupal site that allows redirecting. For the kickapps communities I can provide you the redirecting code. There is a small chance to get your posts deleted after a few days, but you can always re-post it if necessary... most of the time they will never close it, and you will receive traffic constantly (assuming that your chosen keyword has any traffic on google).
Hit me up about this, I can help you or anyone else interested in ranking for long tail keywords.

i stumbled across a site the other day that's in the #7 spot for a decently monetizable keyword that gets 22,000 searches per month. the funny part is the site only has 2 backlinks lol. i'm gonna try to duplicate what they're doing and see what happens... :)
