What did Mr. Beast do to start getting so many views?

Mr Beast is killing the YouTube game & has been for years now. As far as the screenshot above from the early days, I mean Motivation for YouTubers vs Cutting a table in half with plastic knives are completely different types of videos.

His initial videos were garbage and got very less views. He just evolved with time.

Listen to his podcast with Joe Rogan, he literally explains EVERHTHING he's tried, and what is working for him right now. It's a good listen and he's very humble about it too.

I think a good example is when he gave 10k to a homeless person. He insisted on 10k instead when he could only pay 5k because the quality and sound of '10k' is (obviously) way better than 5k for a Youtube video. I personally would never up it to 10k which probably shows why he's so good at youtube.

From my understanding, MrBeast is doing what a lot of copycats are now doing.
Basically, he was just giving away money-holding contests and just kind of created a large community that translates into a big subscriber base, and it kind of snowballed from there.
I've seen smaller YouTubers pull this off with some varying degrees of success.
But the more you figure out what your community is into and incentivize them by holding contests, giving stuff away, or letting them direct you as to who to give money to, the word does spread out.
And don't be surprised if your subscriber base starts blowing up.
Since this model is kind of getting beat to the ground, I'm not convinced that it is a sustainable model because how may MrBeasts can YouTube sustain?
