Google news approved domains question!

so lets say am looking to purchase a domain off someone that claims the domain is approved by google news yet the domain was purchased when it has expired so that means all the links have been de-indexed so how can i know for sure the domain is approved and not get scammed ? Thanks!

Easy, it should appear in the News tab when searching in google.
If it doesn't appear, then it's quite likely a scam.

@LuckyGamble wouldn't the domain being expired cause google to de-index all the pages ? am just buying a domain not a website

Well, you said that someone was selling it to you. If I was you, I would ask the seller to create a news-worthy article in the domain and see if it appears in the News tab in google

Thank you for sticking with me on this ^^ lets say i managed to get a domain that was previously approved google news can i just create a quick wordpress site and publish any article to test ?

If it's still in google news, it would appear in the news tab, if it doesn't then it's gone from google news.

do i need to set special settings on the site or submit a sitemap got GSC or just create the wordpress site and publish any article to see if it gets indexed ?

Previously, you needed to submit the site to a portal, but nowadays I think google adds the sites on autopilot

yes, it should index that fast. If it doesn't, well now you know it isn't in google news
