Hello,
I have been working on a few projects and was doing some experiments.
I have taken some physical products which I thought had high demand and started started creating 3000-5000 word guides. The domains are fully devoted for those products and no other products are posted. No other content is placed and not updated again.
The guides are of good quality and provide real value. They are properly formatted and placed on the sites in multiple pages.
They are kind of set and forget sites.
The second kind of sites are sites with a particular category of products and involve lots on content.
For example - Tips, short tutorials, reviews, Q\A articles etc. Updated 3 times a week.
I recently had a health emergency in my family and after a lot of struggle she was survived but God's grace. Though most of my work is done my VAs, the sites are not updated for around 2 months.
But all the sites are making similar number of sales even though they are not updated. But The second type requires recurring investment (content, update etc). Over a period of time, they may grow and make money than the set 1.
What do you guys think?
First set are set and forget type websites but they are short lived 1 or 2 years etc. These days several products are being released and upgrades etc, these products will get outdated
Where are second set, they need constant money to put in. 1 or 2 months gap is okay but still we need to inject content regularly.
1st set were developed 8 months back and are still constantly ranking and earning money.
Is developing more set 2 type of sites better than first set for long run? Though first set are set and forget kind of sites, the content initially placed is of high quality and premium 3- 5 cents per word content or sometimes 10 cents per word content is placed.
Second set is mostly 1 cent per word and AI content.
Search Engine rankings are not much different too.
Aren't SEO's saying that sites need to be updated constantly?
The first set of site have product name in the domain and mostly there is no scope for expansion. I am not sure how to monetize further.
Focus is the problem, could not decide which one to keep and which one to sell or expand whatever...
Any ideas on how to scale?
