Need HELP from SEO expert

Hello BHW,
I have a website old 2yrs + with 8.000 pages on it.
My homepage is ranking for main keywords on average 4/5th position(12kw total), but the rest of my pages with 20k+ keywords(showing on semrush) are poistioned 20+ place on google.

The problem that I think for the pages not ranking is something with the structure of the website.
Here is why I think that:

I have good link portfolio comparing to my competition, but there are many sites without any backlinks ranking better than me with their pages.

I was thinking, maybe they have hidden pbn or smth, but in that case they would rank for the main keywords(home page) also, while their position for main kw(homepage) is 30+.

Can some SEO expert help me or give me idea what to do?
I was thinking to change the structure of the site(which will change my url and make 8k 404 error url) is that good option? Since im not ranking for them.
Are those 404 errors gonna affect somehow the ranking of my homepage main kw?

Any help is appreciated, I really don’t know what to do and I’ve spent more than 2 years on that website…

Yeah as you said, they are probably using a hidden pbn. They don't need to rank for the main keywords, they just need to rank for enough keywords to get the job done.

My suggestion is to build more links to your site. If you can outrank your competition with links, just go for more content.

The thing is I tried everything except the the site structure which Im 100% sure i fcked up there. I think that’s the main problem. Any advice if i change an url on 8k indexed pages?

The old url will get deindexed and the new one will be indexed, but all links made to those old urls will be gone as well :/

That's the problem with big sites :/

Just build more links to your site, that's how things work with google.

Never do this. It will leave a very bad impact on your site. 8k pages with 404 errors or 301 redirects is never ideal.

Instead start working on the content. Edit the existing posts and add content upto 1000 to 1500 words. 2000 words is even better. Include keywords in it and check after a week or so. I am sure you will get positive result with this.

There are options to redirect each old url with the new one even if you change the structure of website. This is a old myth that you lose everything when you change the structure. You don't have to lose them.

I didn’t get this pretty good. I mean I got nothing to lose on those pages since this way they don’t rank. Do you think its smart give a try

So your competitors pages do not have any content? Then you can easily outrank them if you write content for your own respective pages. I don't see any issue here. Am I getting you right?

Not really, its just a results given on the page, there is really nothing much to write about it except the results and all of the websites have that. I’ve also built backlinks toward some of the pages and still they won’t rank. Only the difference with me and my competitors is the structure of the site(slang urls etc..) thats also another reason why I think the structure is wrong.

I truly believe that it is the structure of your site, so I suggest that you create new content that targets easier to rank keywords.

And the interlink these once they start to rank with the internal pages that you already have.

This is how you create a quick boost for internal pages that have either lagged, sunk, or never ranked at all.

Another way you can play the game is to find out which of your pages are ranking really well and then link them to pages you’d like to lift up in the rankings.

You should need some powerful backlinks like a Ranking machine Backlink. If we talk about backlinks quality then Backlinks websites must have 90+ DA and less spam score under 3 it will very help full for you. Thanks, me Latter.
